led bulbs for dash/ heater control?

has anyone here used led bulbs in their dash? i see gmc pauls has them part# 1326698. i was just wondering how they were? are they brighter then standard bulbs? are there any pros and cons here? also is there any light kits for lighting the ac/heater control? talking about a 72 here by the way.

I believe one negative to using the LED's is that they are only an ON/OFF option so you lose the function of your dimmer switch. I usually always keep my gauges as bright as possible so its not a concern to me.
As for the heater I'm not familiar with how it is lit, but if it is by bulb just do a search on the net for the bulb # and LED and you will most likely find an LED equal to it. I am also going to replace the light under the shift indicator on my auto colum with a LED.

I'm not sure how good those leds are. I would get the four point ones. The single ones will not be that bright. Also, you will only need four bulbs. The other bulbs take care of the turn signals and High beam and brakes. The heater display came with a 194 socket, however, I have never seen one. Keep in mind that the lens on the heater is green, so going for a full on blue effect will be hard. Also, in the dash is a green metal plate. For best results, take that thing out and paint it white. I had the decals put on my guages for a better look as well. You should notice a big differance by just painting that plate white. I used Jam Straight leds and love them. However, its true you will not be able to dim them. They are either on or off.

Good luck,

James
