AC Vents

Need some help. I purchased new AC vents for the dash. Is there another part that keeps the AC vent ball from falling out the back? I have the outlet bezels but it looks like something should be on the back keeping the ball from falling out. Any takers?

Thumbs up Re: AC Vents

Once you install the dash part you put the ball in then there is a strip of foam that should go in it also to make the ball stay as you point it and not let it roll around inside the housing.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: AC Vents

Its actually a felt strip. I assume foam would tend to stick, or grab too much.

Re: AC Vents

I think the OP is referring to the piece that connects to the vent hose.

LMC calls it the "air outlet adapter"

They look something like this

Thanks bigdav160. I knew there was something else that connected to the hose.

Glad you figured it out. I was going by your original post and thought you wanted to keep the ball inside the dash vent. Not connecting the hose.

Good deal!
LMC has the best pictures of anyone. May not always be best parts are price but you can't beat their pictures!

Re: AC Vents

Got a question. What is the order of the parts going together? When I took off the hose adapter everything fell out and I don't know where to attach the felt strip.

I believe the order is:
- Dash A/C housing (Back facing up)
- Felt strip installed to the bottom
- A/C ball vent
- Install another felt strip to the bottom where the adapter changes sizes
- Assemble the hose adapter and the a/c housing into one unit

Is this right?
