70 gmc brake hard lines

hi, my left front brake line got a hole rubbed in it by the speedometer cable. I have looked for a replacement but the major companys mostly sell kits. I really just need the left front. do you guys know anyone that sells them as singles? thanks, BROWN 70

i haven't gone looking for a single brake line.i make my own but any garage with a mechanic should be able to make you a new brake line if you can't do it yourself?

By Law brake lines require a double flare. If you don't have the tools to do a double flare I would look for a shop that does. You can save a bunch of money if you can remove the line and have it made. Then reinstall it yourself and bleed the brakes. Then your good to go. My bet is the wear culprit might be the parking brake cable. It should be bolted to the inner fender. Fix that while your at it.

take your old one to o reillys and they sell you a length of pre flared and fitted line that you bend yourself,

I'd call Inline Tube on the phone and see if they'll send just a single line. When ever I don't see something on a website, I call on the phone direct and a lot of times can get what I need.

The steel preflared lines are tough to bend close to the frame. You can end up with something that’s not real pretty but functional.

Depending on how original you want it to look NiCop or nickel copper is pretty easy to bend and flare. Most autoparts stores sell different lengths with the correct ends. Best case scenario you would only have to flare one end after bending to match what you have.

thanks guys, I guess making my own is the way to go. I think I,ll make the connection on the outside of the frame as it wraps around to go under the truck. easy to get at. then just wrap it with rubber. its not a show truck. thanks again BROWN 70

just keep in mind as you run that line,the factory runs them down the insides of frame rails,across and through crossmembers and such for a reason.they need to be protected and anything run on the outside of the frame rail,is possibly a target for some piece of trash on the road,a rock,a piece of broken leaf spring(like i had go through a transmission pan) anything under the car can be hit by debris so the whatever you can do about hiding it,the better.

I never had any luck getting a pre bent line that would fit correctly. I returned 2 of them before I gave up and bought a flare tool and some line from the NAPA down the road. A couple hours later my 2 month brake job was finished. It's really not that bad even considering I made the mistake everyone warns you about -finally getting a perfectly bent line and forgetting to put the nut on before flaring it.
