Unusual Camper

This thing is too cool! I've never seen a frame mount be such a compact camper. I'd like to have it. It's a quirky thing!

Re: Unusual Camper

What immediately stands out to me is that there's no pass-through from the rear window. I don't know that I've ever seen one like that.

Re: Unusual Camper

I have seen them like that, but not with the cab already cut for a pass through.

The back of the cab is cut for a pass-thru, but doing so would eliminate the cook range/oven's spot, so I'd guess the current camper box is a replacement.
Good price, but with 500,000 miles on the ODO the state of the 350 [or other SBC] is a roll of the dice.
Cab corner and rocker rust is about par.

They tamp down the massive fly-away torque from the awesome 350.

Re: Unusual Camper

Fuel consumption must have been too low so they added the camper to bring it up a bit. It would work well drafting behind a tractor-trailer though.

Re: Unusual Camper

It says the odometer has rolled over several times. Must have been a well-loved truck. It also says it's a made from scratch camper. It looks to have been pretty well done in it's day.

There's a group of people who travel the country in vintage campers and homemade campers. They meet here and there. I can't recall what they call themselves. That would be a great rig for their get-togethers!

That's what I was thinking.

I had even read all the listing when I posted this. So he made that using aluminum framing. That's what I want to do, using square tube. He did a good job. Looks professional. It's different having the entry door on the side.

My camper rig didn't have a pass-thru when I bought it. I installed the slider, it never had one, removed the window on the camper, and made a frame to trim it. I bought an inflatable seal from an RV supplier. It was strange not being able to communicate between the camper and cab. The camper had the water tank across the front, so no walk-thru. Plus it was a pickup with a slide-in
