Blasting away (hood springs)

Thought I would share my fixture I manufactured for blasting and powder coating hood springs. Works like a champ and no one get hurt. I use the small ratchet block to stretch the springs onto the fixture. Then blast them and powder coat them without removing them from the fixture. When done I use the same ratchet block to remove them. Perfect job every time. And the process leaves no lines. Pictured is a spring blasted before installation on the fixture. The uncleaned debris is obvious.
Cheers.

Re: Blasting away (hood springs)

I’ve heard not to powder coat any metal that has been hardened . It may be a myth but heating metal to 400 degrees can alter its hardness and temper. I temper Steel at 400 to temper for knives .

I like the fixture

Re: Blasting away (hood springs)

Might be playing on the knife's edge. VBG.
I have practical knowledge, it works and the hood stays up.
Cheers.
