Upon install of the new ac lines, I am a bit disappointed with the inter action contact with the heater hoses. Can I ask someone for a picture or two of the routing of these lines? 72 c20 version with a SBC. Thank you in advance.

Factory lines?

This is my 72' K2500, should be the same. Hopefully this helps you.

My '69. As original. Even has the original clamps, straps, etc. I have a few different shots, but this is the most inclusive.

Thank you every one. Jim, I was specificly thinking of your truck when I posted. Looks like the 69 had a different set up for the heater line and valve location. My 72 heater hose valve is mounted on the wheel well liner. Can someone confirm the 72 valve is mounted on the wheel well? Does the hose lay on top of the ac compressor and under the ac muffler pipe or up over the compressor mount area and along the muffler pipe after the bend and over to the valve?

Valve attached to inner fender is correct for '70-'72.

I'm 2000 miles from the truck, so I need to rely on my picture file. Here is a pre teardown shot that may help. Ignore the 2 red wires in the foreground.

69 was way different than later years. 69 used the port off the water pump. Later years used the port off the intake manifold by the tstat. I guess the question is...does the hose from the manifold port route over the compressor front mount by the pully, or under the ac muffler pipe allowing that hot hose to contact the ac compressor housing.? I would think heat transfer to be a issue but in thinking about it, the air flow off the radiator is likely just as much a heat issue as a hot hose.. Again I am way over thinking this. I will rebuild this 500 times laying in bed tonight.
