NP205 Linkage - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hi Everyone

I have a frame with running gear from a 1965 K10. It has a Np205 in it from prior owner. I understand it is a better T case than the Rockwell 221. I am wondering how I would connect the shift linkage. It did not come with one so wondering what I would need. Also any opinions on the install would be appreciated

I forgot to upload a picture of the existing linkage looks like it must mount to the side of the transmission?

My guess is that the shift rod is mangled and the shifter bolts into the lowest bolt hole on the trans in the pic in post #3. It's a big 7/16 or 1/2 shoulder bolt.

Would anyone have any idea of the proper shift linkage to make this work or have anything for sale? The other question I had was the mounting of the 205 to the cross member? Is this a proper way to mount it looks like the way the T221 was mounted?

Okay more looking at my linkage. It looks like the link arm coming off the 205 goes over the driveshaft and somehow connects to the large bolt on the back pad of the SM420. Has anyone seen this before. How did the rockwell T221 connect? Did it connect to the SM 420 the same way. Surely someone must know

I have found a oicture of the original style transfer case Shifter it is attache to a bracket where did it originally hookup? Would I be able to use the original style lever with the 205 or would it require a shifter from a different year like a 70 model that originally had a 205 in it. I have looked at those and they all seem like they are off a married 205 not divorced?

Whoever installed that 205 cobbled up that shift rod so the t-221 lever could still be used.

The t-221 lever was factory installed with a bracket that bolted to the drivers side of the transmission and came up through the floor on the driver side of the tranny shift lever.

Here is a pic of the t-case and shifter out of the 60-66 assembly manual.
