Finished the 70 Short Bed

Well, she’s coke along ways in 2 months. Just need to figure out a transmission leak and then it’s good to go. Leaks a little when being filled and leaks a little when I park and the truck is slanted to the right a bit. I’m thinking fill tube ao ring.

What I did:

3/4 drop coo coils all around with drop shocks
Converted with a new turbo 350
Tilt column
Automatic pedal setup
Power brakes
Power steering
Brakes all around
New fluids all around
Rebuilt the carb
Rubbed out the original paint
Fixed the tailgate dents
New tires
Full hub caps
Chrome front bumper
Painted the rear bumper
Original set of seat belts
Cut the drive shaft down
Relocated the alternator to fit the power steering setup
New exhaust/muffler setup
Fixed all the lights

Not bad for an all original paint truck. Thinking this will be a keeper.

Love that I have the original bill of sale

Still need to detail the engine compartment

I like it.

The original receipt Wow.

Is the SPID still on the glovebox door?

Awesome job.
Still can't believe how good that tailgate came out.

Yup, original spid and bill of sale. All of the ordinal option on it march up too. Love that it’s all documented.

It was originally a 3 speed so the driveshaft was too long when I put the automatic turbo 350 with a new mount setup. Had to cut it down so it fit. Also had the carrier bearings… all replaced at the same time

Everything you could want and nothing more. Just a great example of one of these trucks people have loved since they came out. Built just right from the start

Hideous, I know. Bought a cpp 500 series power steering kit and my belt was hitting one of the ps pump bracket bolts. Of course they had a $120 bracket to fix it but what a weird looking placement.

It works at least.
