Pic #1. All ready foe Epoxy and High build primers.

Pic #2. Ready for blocking.

Pic #3. This is my makeshift booth so I could wire wheel and sandblast.

Pic #4. Hood is in pretty nice condition, A dent in the front peak will need some attention and some rot on the backside as well.

Pic #5. The underside of hood after paint stripper was used and will need to be blasted and wheeled.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

That's a good idea to use the garage door rails. I will have the same amount of work on both my inner fenders.

Thanks guys...
The booth came in really handy for keeping the Nasty stuff from flying around the shop and the sand as well.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pic #1. Is the backside inner structure of the hood. This was removed so I could fix a dent in the peak in the lower portion that you can't get to.

Pic #2. This was after Hammer/Dolly,welding and metal finish.

Pic#3. This is what was found after I used the wire wheel.

Pic#4. The spot welds drilled out and the top section will be re used.

Pic#5. The bad section removed.

Pic #2. Jumping forward, all welded in place.

Pic #3. The stock piece ready to be welded back in.

Pic #4. Welded and metal finished.

Pic #5. This was after the hood was blasted and is now ready for Epoxy and High Build primers.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pic #1. As you can see here the front lip needs some love.

Pic #2. A thin coat of filler was applied.

Pic #3. Shot some more H.B. ready for blocking.

Pic #4. The hood had a couple spots I was not happy with so some filler was applied to smooth them out. Will spray more H.B. and block again and be ready for final primer.

Pic #2. This was just after shooting so didn't flatten yet.

Pic #3. The Inner fenders were shot as well as will the core support so it all matches.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

[FONT="Comic Sans MS"]Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Onto the next project...The Core support

Pic #1. The core support before blasting.

Pic #2. A closer look of the rot found that will need to be fixed.

Pic #3. This was taken after blasting, alot of swiss cheese!!

Pic #4. 2nd view.

So as you can see this will take a fair amount of work and planning to fix all this but I'm up for the task in saving yet another piece!
