Thank's Doug!
It was kinda like the seen from "Fastimes at Ridgemont High" when spicoli says "I've got an awesome set of tools I can fix it!"
So I took a leap into the deep end!

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pic #1. This was the mock up of the large section for the passenger side.

Pic #2. After it was tacked in place.

Pic #3. 2nd view of it tacked in place. If you notice it has holes in it for flange nuts to be welded in for mounting the inner fender.

Pic #4. In this shot it shows the upright all repaired just like the Drivers side.
Moving on...next up flange nuts and flange.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pic #1. Flange nuts welded in place, ready to start on the flange.

Pic #2. The flange was super easy, I just cut a long strip and started tacking along the length and bent to shape. Weld, grind etc.

Pic #3. 2nd view

Pic #4. 3rd view for good measure.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pic #1. The upper portion of the stock core support is very Ugly with these relief cuts, SO away they will go...

Pic #2. another view (do not have a after shot) But they were welded, ground and metal finished smooth!

Pic #3. This was after some light bodywork,Epoxy primer and High Build primer.

Pic #4. 2nd coat of H.B. Primer

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pic #1. The core support is all done and in it's final paint, again going with the Satin black.

Pic #2. another view.

Pic #3. Set in place with the inner fenders.

Just to recap on the Engine bay: Firewall, under hood, inner fenders and core support will All be Satin Black. Trying to give it a little contrast when you open the Hood. Have not nailed down what all will be done with the Engine yet will figure it out as it progresses.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

So now that the core is finished I will turn my attention to the inside of the cab again. This time the inner roof. The customer is a Big guy and can't use the sun visors so the stock holes will be filled per his request.

Pic #1. Here I'm getting ready to weld up several holes that someone screwed fabric to the back panel years ago.

Pic #2. Visor holes welded up.

Pic #3. 2nd view.

Pic #4. (jumping ahead after bodywork) Sprayed in Epoxy Primer.

Pic #5. And finally in H.B. Primer and ready for blocking.

Yep, nice work Mark. The light shale...was that an original color? It kinda looks like primer and I don't remember seeing it before.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Thank's Doug!
Yes it is a stock GM color and they have a medium and Dark as well.
On his interior there will be some dark accent pieces to mix it up a bit.
It was an early 2000 model I believe.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

I'm going to switch gears a bit here and show the roll pan.

Pic #1. When the pan showed up it wasn't the best looking piece..meaning seams not welded ugly corners etc. So in this shot I welded the seams around the plate box and the ends.

Pic #2. I then rounded the corners and will cap them off. (bolt on pan)

Pic #3. The mockup piece for the cap. These will add a more finished look to the ends of the pan when mounted.

Pic #4. After welding.

Pic #5. In Epoxy primer.

Pic #1. The Drivers door being prepped for interior color. The top section of the door will be the same as main color of the truck.

Pic #2. After laying down the blue Fine Line tape.

Pic #3. Another view of how the separation of the colors will be.

Pic #4. After Light shale was shot.
