Looks very good. I like the idea of different colors inside and out.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Well finally getting to start the Long process of wetsanding....

Pic #1. Some parts that were wetsanded already in the back ground.

Pic #2. Getting the cab ready to mask off the firewall so it can be wetsanded.

Pic #3. During the sanding process.

Pic #4. I spent several Days vacuuming the cabinets, ceiling, doors, lights etc. to removed any dirt and debris. Then started to hang plastic around the entire shop to keep dust to a minimum.

Pic #5. The remaining plastic hung up. (yes the back of cab had a spot I didn't like so it had some more work done)

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Thank's everybody!
I did some convincing of the final choice of the color.
In this pic. my weld cart I built awhile back is the same blue as the truck and the spray out card is of a chrysler PT cruiser (electric blue) The GM color pops more in the sun..

The color changes depending on the light as well, Night time it takes on a really cool blue/purple hue.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

I have the predecessor to that color on my GTO. 1994 Corvette GS - Dark Cloisonne Blue Poly. Looks very similar and I love how it has a bright royal blue in the sun and a dark blue at night. Awesome color choice.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Thank's Knomadd.. Funny thing is if you talk to one person the color is the poly blue and another person it's admiral blue.
If you google 96 GS they call it Admiral blue!
Either way it's an awesome color (hands down my favorite)

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Huh, what do you know, you DO learn something new every day...

Apparently both colors are one and the same. The color code is identical for Admiral Blue and Dark Cloisonne Poly. It looks like, according to this website the Corvette name is Admiral Blue, but the GM name is Dark Cloisonne Poly. Notice the "cor" next to the color, it's a Corvette only color. Only from 1994-1996. All PPG and Dupont chips on this site refer to it as the Poly color, but nearly all references to the GS across the web are Admiral Blue.

Regardless of what it's called. I love that color. Can't wait to see it assembled.

Re: Blake's 67 GMC stepside build

Pic #1. The roll pan.

Pic #2. tailgate came out really nice as well.

Pic #3. Here I'm just showing how I was setting everything in place and taking a practice run with the hose to see if it would be easy enough to maneuver around all the items.

Pic #4. The cab after it was cut in and the overspray was wetsanded and ready for paint.
