Good Luck!
What are your plans when you get it home?
Do you have everything to assemble it?
New wheels?

Re: Project N2Deep

I had the exhaust done last week, so all that's left is rear wheel tubs, glass, airride system, Rhino line the bed and interior. No new wheels at this point!

No, they are just vents to the outside. I just covered them to make it look finished!

Anyways, I said I should have got it back monday (I forgot to translate to the special "painter" language-and ask which monday). While I'm at it I should make sure we are talking about the same month & year!

Re: Project N2Deep

Sounds to familiar ..... bad thing is a lot of guys arent so lucky to end up with something that look as good .....usually they are out alot of money and no work done .....NOT that all painters are that way ..... seems in every industry you can hear those types of stories .....I could tell you one about an engine builder ...would make your stomach turn.. The garage looks fantastic and truck looks to be turning out nice ...Congrats

Re: Project N2Deep

And the drama continues. He called me today and says there are two more problems with the truck. It doesn't shift correctly (the ididit shifter cable/column combo) and the whole cab forward is not aligned properly (too far back and maybe sideways) and will probably hit on the bed if I drive it. Oh yeah, and he wants to know if I want to fix it myself or have him do it. Am I missing something here??

Re: Project N2Deep

wow, that stinks...so did they mount the cab and rad support? And put the shifter in or was that done before it got to them?

Re: Project N2Deep

No the whole the cab forward was mounted by Devious Customs when they did their work, but you would think he would test fit everything to make sure everything fits before he put any paint down. And the bed has been painted and on the truck for two months and he just noticed it now? I told him from the beginning that I knew this was a custom truck and there would be problems. But this guy has told me numerous times that my truck was going to be done on a specific date and then not followed through (remember when he said "man to man" he would have it done months ago.) Just last week he said it was done and all he needed to do was the gas filler.

I told him at this point I'm not upset about the time frame, but of all the promises he has made and not come through. Now he says it'll take a week to realign the front end. So I told him to put his money were his mouth is and I'd bet him $500 he won't have it done in a week.

Re: Project N2Deep

He put the shifter in. He said the original headers that I had wouldn't work with the Ididit shift linkage. So I bought a set from Early Classics that fit better. Then he said they still wouldn't work with the linkage type and that I needed the cable type. So I bought the Ididit cable linkage and he said it worked fine. Now he says it doesn't work and that he never tested it?

I told him I'm not worried about it and I would figure it out later. My main issue is with the body alignment. Also, when he shaved the bumper it sticks out further than the stock one. So I may go back to a chrome bumper up front!
