Wow...real long weekend...but AWSOME!!!!
Longhorn Jeff showed up from Illinois on friday evening, we stayed up till bout 3 AM just shooting the crap, then up at 8 AM to get loaded up for Mike's. I had about 6 or 7 hrs labor into the GMC washing, waxing, cleaning it all up. Spent about 16 hrs there at mikes, had some fun, learned some stuff, and for anyone who was wondering about the whole 68 ignition bezzel problem that Jewels was having...I got it all set up for her. Did't crash untill about 4:30 this morning, then it was up at 9! Jeff left for home this afternoon, and should be home later on around 9 or 10 I'm thinking.
Many thanks to everyone I got to talk to, deal with, learn from, and esp all the deisel jokes, we ragged on her pretty hard, but she took it all with a huge smile!
The attendance was outstanding, and I can't wait till next year.
Give me a few min to d/l my pics, i have quite a few to do here.
One interesting thing...there were only 2 short beds, mine and jewls trucks, but 3 LONGHORNS!!! Who woulda figured?

Here's a hand full of pics out of the 30 or so i took....

First, the people...
From left to right, #1 with hands ion pockets...I don't know, #2 with hand on burb...again, not sure, #3 looking like he is pointing down at his shoes...Jamie72, #4 is Pierce, Way in the back, I think that was Dwaite72Longhorn, Next to him is another I can't tell in this pic, and then our deisel girl Jewels.

Here is dmurphy68's 68 Chevy. Sweet guages, and thanks for the door prizes! I already installed them on both rigs! He was pretty cool, and his girl friend was cool too.

I am terible with remembering names...but I think this one was BigBlue72's rig, trying to catch up to me with only250K on the clock.

Here is Mr Huck's sweet truck, a hyd clutch/5 speed (!!!) 350 powered 71 or 72 chevy. That would be Mr Cheesewagon on the left...not sure who he's talking to though. (sorry!)

Here is the 67 that was for sale, belonging to buxman66 if memory serves.

More to come....

Sorry guys, I was trying something that didn't work...here's some more....
Cheesewagon's cheese wagon! A pretty cool burb about to go under the knife for a full frame off headache. Now sporting buckets.

Here is Longhornjeff69's 69 longhorn CST/20 Custom Camper. This is one smooth riding longhorn (I drove it around Columbus on Friday night) and has some pretty nice stuff like 396/TH400, tach, speed warning, dealer installed GM logo spot light, and a Jeff built/modified 8 1/2 foot camper shell.

Here is Jeff cooking up some awsome wings for everyone. I don't think he even knew I took this picture.

Another Longhorn...this one a 69 GMC, belonging to Pierce from southern Ohio. Cool ride with late model 16 inch rims.

More to come...

Yet another Longhorn...this one being the best example I have ever seen. I don't think there was a bolt that did not get attention, be it cleaned and painted or simply replaced...this truck is a work of art. (soon to be seen on the pages of my longhorn site) Everyone who says that this color grows on you, you are absolutly right...it does.
I only hope that my one ton rig can look this good...one day.

Does this one need a caption? The turd that we all recognise (which is why I parked it right off the street for a while) my 69 GMC/Chevy hybred. (or is that inbred?) I put 3 coats of wax on that sucker, even on the green fenders. Kinda came back to haunt me as I sat on the hood talking to dmurphys girlfriend and I kept on slipping off.

And the star of the show...the only deisel powered truck on the lot!
LOL, I'll let her tell that one.
SJewels said it best herself, pictures do not do this truck justice. This short/step has been pretty much completly gone over in the last 10 years that she has had it. She will be the first one to point out little flaws that no one would ever even notice.

Told you it was sweet.
I think we all learned a thing or two while helping her to make her truck ride/run just a little better.
That's her lookin tired/p!ssed, Fine69 holding the distributor, and BigBlue72 on the left.
Look at the paint on this thing y'all...even inside the cab was pinted just as nice, and just as smooth. onless you are blind, you'll see the reflection of Fast68's old dump truck rescued from the tortch by our host.

Compaired to mine...with fresh wax.

I can't wait till the next meet that I can make it to...be it fine69's second one next year, or at another member's place before the end of the season. I had a blast, and it was great putting a face to some of these screen names.

OldChev...Jeff and I were talking bout that trip quite a bit...looking at pics and everything. You oughta come next year. You woulda been the only Blazer this year, but my money says that Chevy_fat_man will have his big block 2 wheel drive Blazer rippin up the streets by then.
I think Jewels was the only one to camp out there. She had planned to crash in her step side, but Fine69 had a better place for her...

A 69 Chevy Motor Home with a 396, less than 50,000 on the clock, and the cleanest unrestored chrome trim inside the cab that I have ever seen..
