Re: You Know You're a Hardcore Chevy/GMC Truck Fanatic When:

When I'm done for the night in my shop, as I'm locking the service door I usually say,
"G'night boys".
It never dawned on me that I was a hardcore until one night my 6 year old daughter was locking up with me and she said,
"Good night boys".

Steve, my brother, YOU have stated the venerable 50% Hot Rod Axiom that has always powered the American performance car culture, EVERY Hot Rod we build is worth 50% of what we spent, allowing ZERO for OUR labor of course. Also everyone looking to Buy it will pick it apart, while complaining the Price is too HIGH! All that being said, most of us can't really imagine it any other way, AMERICAN HOT-RODDING, may she last forever!!

Drive 15hrs , pick up a clean 69 , spend all winter making it right , drive it for 1/2 the summer , sell it...... then start all over again.. instantly.

You think that every post in this thread is normal.

Drive another 15 hours for the next one. Don't buy it 'cause its not "right" , keep driving , end up 24 hrs into the trip and buy the 68 I still have now.

Your wife has no problem with an instant trip anywhere , with no other explanation other than "Found another truck.. gotta go".

When you have heard this from someone looking at your truck in either the Gas Station or a Cruise the 15,000 time " I used to have one almost exactly like that back in _ _ _ _. And boy do I miss it. It was the best truck I ever had."

Literally spit my soda all over my computer

When you wash your truck and refer to it as giving it a sponge bath
(side note on this, my wife actually heard me refer to it as this and asked me why I don't give her a sponge bath. To which I replied "because you don't have these nice curves". She knows I love her and didn't mean it... AFTER I bought roses and chocolate and slept on the couch for the next week.)

when the first thing you look forward to when you come home is to see if its still there.

When you drive it on any extreme weather day even though it doesnt have heat nor A/C instead of your new car which has both.

when your wife texts you a pic of a 67-72 she saw while running errands.

when your brother tells you about a truck on craigslist 3 states away from you and you say "yeah i saw that one".

when you notice you have 2,089 files in your "67-72 pictures" folder.

when you find the SPID thread interesting.

When you sleep in your truck in the cold garage during a winter storm cause you don't want to feel scared or lonely. Lol or when you are at a friends camp and you decide to sleep in your truck instead of the nice heated camper in the winter. I have done that. When you incorporate a heated "museum" into the new building you are building at your shop just to keep your truck. I am doing that one right now.

Re: You Know You're a Hardcore Chevy/GMC Truck Fanatic When:

When you're talking to your buddy at a car show and notice a lady caressing his car and kind of freak out until you realize she's blind, wearing gloves and just "looking", then wish you had brought yours so she could "see" it too. (24 * and I didn't want to warm up and move 3 cars to get it out of the drive before 7:00 a.m.)

When you wife asks why you don't caress her like you do your truck.

When you don't mind shelling out for a new dash pad but anything other than a car show T shirt is a real commitment of cash.

When you walk the JY just to see if there's anything you might can use on your truck.

When you fly half way across the country to attend someones wedding but alter travel plans to stop at a board members house (who you've never met before) to buy and look at hubcaps before attending the wedding.

When you only drive it if there's no rain and it's above 45degrees.

When you can't drive it unless you go to the car wash first whether it needs it or not.

When you just sit on its bumper and hang out.

When I smile everytime I start it up because I like the deep rumble of a V8.

Re: You Know You're a Hardcore Chevy/GMC Truck Fanatic When:

when you are always running late because someone had to stop you to talk with you about your truck

When your excuse for being late for work has at one time been "I got caught up in a conversation with someone asking about my truck"

When you get tired of everyone offering to buy it from you for WAY under what its worth even if it is just sentimental value.
