Thanks, it's my wall paper and I have a print out of it hanging in my kitchen to keep me motivated.

I'm thinken your only option is on the floor at the back doors. Just like the p/u truck guys are doing. Just make sure it's vented outside and not through the cap.

--Filler cap In the wheel well would probably be too tight for the filler nozzle
--Filler cap Behind the license plate at the back bumper is a pretty good idea but too low for the gas tank to receive fuel, or the tank would have to be lower than the bumper. From behind we'd like to see the rear axle, not the fuel tank.
I'm leaning toward behind the tail if I have room to work with it.

Nice looking build.

I recall someone putting a fuel door in the front door jamb. IIRC, it was a Haapala ride.

Re: '56 Chevy Panel build (SLP)

Not much done yesterday other than getting the panel mobil in the shop. Got the extrawide axle out and dropped the panel on a little narrow trailer. Then rigged a way to lift and swing the front around. Works but sure looks funny. Now it should be easy to move out and work on it and then push it back out of the way.

Little trailer

Front rig

In it's new little home.

Did get he fuel take out.

I like the filler hole on the gas tank, it should let you fill from just about anywhere..LOL

Re: '56 Chevy Panel build (SLP)

Here's that fuel filler I was talking about.

Quote:
Randy Haapala didn't want to interrupt the lines on his big GMC panel (seen elsewhere in this issue), so he hid the fuel fillers (one on each side)

Have you seen Haapala's GMC panel?

Today busy helping with planting on the farm so just a lot of measuring for the frame notches. Got a good plan on what I'm needing to do.

Re: '56 Chevy Panel build (SLP)

that is a bad panel. I read the artical when it was in custom classic trucks or classic trucks. one of those two. NICE. Lots of mods to it. Roof line is one of them.

DUUUUU That is from classic trucks. I read it in the mag.

Jared, I'm glad to see the panel is at least rolling now.....

I really like that fuel filler idea posted above, definitely clean and sleek.

Re: '56 Chevy Panel build (SLP)

I've seen them done on a burb before. I'll see if I can find the link. They did a lot of work to make them look good. Little bit too much $$$ for me plus the work to make them look good.
