Re: What's this truck worth?

Here's a recent sale on fleabay. SWB Cheyenne with 350, sold for $16,100.

Show me a sale anywhere of a SWB BB for $10,000, or better yet, one for sale at $10K.

Re: What's this truck worth?

I will give you the fact that I don't see many for sale at that price. I just don't think the one in question deserves top dollar. I, for one, did mention that for about $1000 (rally wheels, tires, and detailing/fix oil leak) I could see this truck being worth $20-25K

However, on the ebay truck. It's a nicer appearing truck than the one shown here (interior, trim, engine bay, wheels)....and the drivetrain is most likely what sold it to someone.....probably 12-16K in drivetrain alone and it only sold for 16K...

As far as the ebay truck. Wouldn't a real Cheyenne have a cargo light?

I am pretty sure that all Cheyennes had the cargo light.

She gave him half.
Thread theft alert

Judges are not falling for the other spouse selling a item worth much more for peanuts. That ex-wife may find herself with a bill for half of 60K minus half of the 900 she gave the porsche away for, of course the ex-husband has to be able to document the porsche was really worth 60,000.

I return you to thread already in progress.....

I agree, it was a bargain at $16k. I'm just pointing out that trucks do sell for more than $10-12k. If trucks this nice sell for $12k or less, I'd love to see them.

Re: What's this truck worth?

Not looking at the undercarriage on it...I would say it's a $18,000-$19,000 truck. In todays market he would get about $15,000 for it. Needs to be detailed and if it has any rust, take care of it before trying to sell. Like the screws in the dash gauges...they are rusted. Get some sandpaper and black paint and hit areas those areas or just replace the screws and bolts that show rust. Inexpensive things he can do to show the quality and care for the truck. Hundred dollar fixes that can bring price up thousands. I am sure the pictures are of the good areas. Lift that carpet up, bed of truck, rails of roof, under battery box, electrical, a/c system and etc. I am sure I could find dozens of things wrong with the truck by just seeing how the carpet was cared for in the picture. If any dirt makes it onto my carpet it is gone before you can say vacuum.

I do actually agree with you. I have been looking to research a value for my super BB swb when complete and I'm having a hard time coming up with comparables.

There aren't many supers for sale and most are lwb...and a bb swb super is even more rare. Most I see are listed between 25K-30K...but I haven't seen any sell at that price. The only ones i've even heard of selling in the last year are fully restored ones that had a show quality restoration done that sold in the high 40's and low 50's...

and a couple on barret jackson that looked like nice restorations that sold in the 30's...

My beef with the truck in this thread is the presentation. ...maybe these pics were taken before they cleaned it up. but now that I've seen them, I can't get the thought that if the truck looks like it does in the pictures there might have been several things that had corners cut during the resto...

If before taking pictures......they had fixed the molding on the side, put new emblems on, put on some full wheel cover steel wheels or rally wheels, and detailed it and it has a nice undercarriage, I wouldn't have had too much issue with the price. Probably a 25K truck easily and low 30's to the right buyer...if presented nicely after these items are fixed....

....but since I've seen the pics, the value dropped for me like a lead balloon

I hope people on this board thinking of selling their truck who read this thread will listen to all the input on here and make sure their truck is in top condition before they list it.

I noticed that too. Ya'd think he'd say something to help his "Friend of a friend" out, but.........

I'm thinking he was wanting all of us to say "WOW, What a great truck your friend has, we think 32K isn't enough for such a preserved piece of American History", but since this Board has one the most knowledgeable bunch of folks I've ever seen, it wasn't surprising to me he got the kind of response he did. I wish more folks would realize, ya just can't post BS on this site. We'll see through it faster than a Casper.

Re: What's this truck worth?

should there be a hole in between the fuse panel block and the emergency brake cable on the firewall for the tach wire? i see one above that area, but that does not seem right.
