What's this truck worth?

A friend of mine is selling a '72 C10 Cheyenne for a friend of his. Nicely restored big block, short bed, very clean and very well optioned (center tach!). His friend wants 32k for it. I've been out of the loop so long, I don't know how these guys are selling. Let me know what you guys think about it's worth:

Re: What's this truck worth?

Pretty high price, missing wood-grain door panel inserts if it is a true cheyenne super. Any pics of the glove box SPID? Oh and missing chrome bezels around amber side maker lights too

Nice truck! Looks like a high end driver to me. The engine compartment should be spotless for that kind of $$$.

I agree. Nice truck but we are looking at a vehicle with less than 600 miles?
Dust is OK but the fenderwell oil patches...

I would say worth not nearly 32K without a full check out.

Also agree... I can see oil on the valve covers, A/C compressor and inner fenders as already mentioned. Also, looks like some of the badges are worn / pitted and the upper trim on the door doesn't line up with the fender or the bed. Not saying it couldn't be worth that kind of money but if you're going to ask top dollar, it better look like new.

Re: What's this truck worth?

IMO, I would be happy to get 12 grand for it, with the way the market is now. But I hope he gets what he's asking 'cause that makes mine worth that much more! (Not that I'd ever sell it...)

Looks like a really nice truck.
The wheels and tires are kind of off putting to me, and I think they'd hurt the sale IMO.

I agree to that. It's almost like they drove it for a while and it
fumed oil...note the grung is on top of the compressor/not under it; so
it had to have happened since the install?
Plus, we have no way of knowing if the oil leaks got cured.

If I had a truck for sale for that amount of bread I would have washed
every part of it. And waxed it. And tied ribbons to it.

texanidiot25, not to rank on your friend of a friend but if you are
considering this truck, look very well at it, for that price.

Re: What's this truck worth?

Nice truck......not $32K nice. I'd say high teens with more appealing wheels/tires and a good top to bottom detail.

Re: What's this truck worth?

Agreed that it's a nice truck but it's missing some of the "super" items and as mentioned the oil leaks and lack of detail will affect the value. As-is....I'd say 12-15K in today's market....but you never know when someone falls in love with a truck....

Nice driver but it's not a $32,000 truck.

I wouldn't go more than $12K

Re: What's this truck worth?

I'd wanna drive it, but there's no way I'd be owning it for that kind of money. He's (She?) been to the Barrett-Jackson pricing school.....and doesn't have a clue. I know we've been dissing it for the price that is asked, but dude....that's at least twice what I'd think it should be priced at to start, knowing you can't go up on your asking price. Maybe they priced it at that point to make the next buyer think they got a good deal.

If it's a for real BB Super, the date codes match, spid, vin and frame, I would be a buyer around $20K the way it sits.

Re: What's this truck worth?

Looks like another episode of "I watched Barrett-Jackson and now I think my truck is worth GOLD".

Fit and finish just isn't there, too many little details that shouldn't be there if it were a true 32k truck.
Like everyone else said; At best a 12-14k truck.

Tune in tomorrow for another exciting episode of "I watched Barrett-Jackson and now I think my truck is worth GOLD" when we'll hear him say:
"Just because they all own one and belong to the best source of information on these trucks in the world they think they can tell me what my truck is worth?, well they don't know what they're talling about".

That comes on right after "you might be crazy" doesn't it?

I'd spend $12-13 on it, if i had it! lol

Re: What's this truck worth?

Nice nice truck!!

But, it's not worth 32k, too many tidbits that are just a little off for that kind of coin.

I'd say if it was a real BB Cheyenne, it is worth more than 15k. I dont see it being worth less than that even if it wasnt a real BB truck. Very nice truck either way you look at it.

I think if it was detailed, the woodgrain trim put on the door panels, the trim lined up, correct wheels with covers or rally wheels installed, and oil leaks fixed...it could be a 20-25K vehicle....(if the undercarriage is also detailed out)....and maybe even more to the right buyer looking for a truck like this in this color.... but there is just too much against it at this point. And those fixes aren't that expensive but right now the detriment to the vehicle's value is major. And in this economic climate, you can't afford a single issue with a vehicle if you want top dollar, much less four or five issues....

A side note....Is the A/C setup at the firewall correct for 72? Just wondering if this had a cab swap....
