Re: just an old truck I got in a trade

I scored these items a while back for 150.
brand new core support with all new stuff on it.
Radiator, fan shroud, horns, headlamps and brackets.
these doors come off a gmc sierra and are rust free dent free. They are manual doors but I will use my electric door pannels on them and install all new parts in them. But they had good vent window frames rust free which is the real reason I wanted them.
My original doors are messed up a little bit can be fixed but it was a good deal.
Passenger side has a hole rusted about the size of a baseball and the drivers had dents in it from a softball and the vent window frames are rusted in the original doors.

Re: just an old truck I got in a trade

Here was a little clip of that 5.7 vortec when it was still in the truck right after I had put the new carb on it and was doing the serpentine belt conversion.
I didnt adjust the carb at all yet since there was no radiator to cool it and it had a bog when the 4 barrel opened just I was just bliping the throttle lightly.

Vortec 350 in 83 c10: http://youtu.be/K9wEvA9uUV0

im hopeing it will be a little stronger when it gets put back together as a 383 stroker

Thanks. It will change some. The old setup was 1 1/2 headers with 2 1/2 collectors and 2 1/2 pipes with what look to be 40 series flowmasters dumped in front of the axle.

I have a new set of 1 3/4 headers with 3" collectors into 3" pipe with a set of 10 series that will be dumped just behind the cab.

Re: just an old truck I got in a trade

Gonna sound sweet, you should post a new video and link it to youtube when you redo the exhaust.

Re: just an old truck I got in a trade

Got a lil bit done today on my cab.
flip it up cleaned all the old oil and caked on grease off the bottom.
Couldnt get the rest of the old zbart undercoating off... but looked like it did a good job of protecting the cab floor for the past 30 yrs.
got it scubbed down and shot it with some paint I had laying around.
I think it looks alot better now than it did. Maybe it will dry by tomorrow and I can set the cab back on the frame.

So I wanted to put my cab back on today. And no one was willing or wanting to help.
my little tractor wont lift high enough or reach out far enough to put the cab on the frame so....

It gets light on the ass end and barely has the hydraulics to lift it. That lil kobota was in a bind. I was hoping a hose or cylinder didnt blow. Had several bricks stacked on the mower deck for extra weight in the back.

Hey Jason, just stumbled on your thread. I hadn't logged on in a while but was hoping you started a build thread on your truck. Once I get a shop I'm going to tear my truck all apart and do it like you are doing yours. I didn't do the frame when I had it apart or under the hood. Progress looks good on yours up to this point. You going to Cruise'N Silsbee this weekend?

Man I'm not sure how to go about doing it yet. Hadn't put much though in it to be honest. I just know it looks rough under the hood and I've got to make it look better than it does,

Re: just an old truck I got in a trade

I saw you had all new body bushings and hardware. What kit is that? Are the body bushings you got rubber or poly?

I have been trying to decide if I want to go poly or rubber. However, the only kit I can find that comes with hardware is a rubber body bushing kit from lmc for like $170.
