Re: Project "49 No Buck$"
That truck is awsome and is very inspirational. I`ve wanted a 47-55 for a long time and when I find the right one I`m going to do it as low buck as possible. In my opinion I wouldn`t take it apart unless it`s a saftey issue. Drive it the way it isand enjoy your hard work. It`s perfect in my opinion.

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"
I worked on my wiper system yesterday and it works great! I'll post pics shortly and show everyone how a Blazer rear hatch wiper motor works great! I designed the whole setup with simplicity in mind and keeping it easy to work on. I may offer to sell the brackets (2 and they would both be laser cut and pre-bent w/holes) if I can keep the price low enough. Anybody interested?

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"
Sorry to keep everyone in suspense with the 'Old Brown Truck', but I needed to finish up a few things on a 72 El Camino I did from the frame up for my dad. Only thing I didn't do was the seat upholstery, transmission and rear gears. Way too much work, but it'll be cool for the "world's oldest 15 year old"! (He's 70!) I have about a weeks worth of little things after work and I can get back on my truck. Thought you'd like to see this anyway

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"
The whole rear suspension setup is from TCI (minus the blocks). They make a very nice lowered suspension deal!

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"
Finished all the brake and fuel line plumbing! Mounted the rear shocks and brackets (shocks might be a bit too short that came with the kit, will have to wait 'till it's put together).

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"
I like the water you captured in mid air in the photo of the car It adds to the effect. And as far as potential goes.... All I have is a bunch of parts, i wish I could have one picture I could label as "before", ... instead a have a number of pictures of a couple of piles of junk that I have to glue together.
Your truck is lookin great keep posting PICS i love to see em.

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"
Wheels! I showed at the beginning that I used some cheap Halibrand/ET3 knockoff wheels I got on Ebay. I always loved the way ET3's looked, but didn't want to spend the money (way more) so I figured I'd fake it. I took the wheels over to a machinist friend of mine (after taking the tires back off) and told him I needed the wheels re-drilled for long shank 11/16" lug nuts instead of the tapered ones they come with.

Re: Project "49 No Buck$"
You always impress me with how you manage to spend a few extra hours and minimal cash and turn out something that looks like a million bucks. I've preached for years that hours of detail work can quite often match or trump buckets of cash thrown at a project.
