Re: Show your motor...

454 I built for my stepside. I disguised the hot rod parts and painted orange for the original look.

327 I built last winter. I worked hard at restoring the Edelbrock C3bx intake and original LT1 Vette valve covers.

WOW...A whole new world. Don't you dare close your eyes because if you do you will find out that when you open them your will come to the conclusion that your engine is not nearly as nice as many of these. Great pics all.

Re: Show your motor...

What do all you guys use to clean up messy wiring? Is the garden variety flex-loom like they sell at Home Depot OK? I'm concerned about melting it.

I spent weeks doing mine, lots of tech-flex and 3 to 1 shrink wrap. All from parts-express.com, and I am just doing my best to keep it away from the headers...

Re: Show your motor...

Thanks Beatcoaster!

That is one sweet motor! It's my weekend to detail the engine compartment. The hints will help out a bunch. I'm guessing it won't look that pretty but someday . . .

BTW is that an ammeter on the hot side of your battery?

Re: Show your motor...

Id try to go to raido shack or a parts store or you can also order it from summit to get the wire loom, just keep it away from your exhasts and it shouldnt melt

Re: Show your motor...

I heard it run tonight for the very first time, 405hp/441ft-lb Blueprint 383, it was a real treat to hear it roar after the time that it has taken me to get this far with the build.

1.5 years ago...the old leaky 307 that now sits in my garage destined for craigslist...

After countless hours of time on the internet, planning, trial and error, blood, and sweat. Tears might come when I actually drive it for the second time since I bought it...

Time to finish the exhaust, brakes and suspension - all with the goal of having it rolling before summer!
