Re: 59 Chevy Build

Not a whole lot to report.......got the hood on, got the headlight buckets installed, and finally got the radiator back from Griffin. If anyone is looking for a good radiator with great service and workmanship..........do not use Griffin. This is the second one that I had made by them and both times it took about 6 months and three send backs (with pictures) to get it close to right. I just got it back yesterday and what a piece of s**t it was. Had to spend about 2 hours just getting the brackets aligned enough to attempt to mount it. They really need to hire people that can at least read a picture!! Anyway it is in and it is the last from them.........................

Hey there. Great build.

I was wondering about the overdrive kit? Do you mean like a gear vendors or like an actual kit you put into the transmission on rebuild?

Orginally the plan was to use the 400 and install an internal overdrive kit. However, after doing a little more homework and price comparison, it has been determined that the best way to go is the 700r4. I went ahead and installed the 400 for now and made the cross member adjustable so when the time comes to switch it out it will be a easier task to do.

Man prostreeter, everytime I see your progress I keep saying to myself what an awesome job you have done! Make sure to save a few bucks to fix the red truck fender

That means a lot coming from a guy that seems to have perfected perfection. Your ride is a benchmark for a clean well built ride. BTW, I did save a few bucks and now have the paint to fix the fender...........

ouch...I parked my 52 in the top of the driveway about a year ago and the wifes car was at the bottom. It was dark and she went out back and got in her car.She backed right into my passenger fender in the front. She came back in crying saying she crashed my car. I had forgot it was in the driveway and not in the garage.

It hurt but with her crying and me leavingthe car at the top of the driveway I could not be mad. The way the driveway is setup she could not even see the car.

My wife called me this last weekend crying when someone did a hit & run on her '99 Tahoe pass. side door. She and my son were fine, but the Tahoe's in the body shop. BTW, I can't wait to see both of these sweet trucks in a shot together! They look cool side by side in your garage.

Re: 59 Chevy Build

man I fee like I have been slacking so much lately..............anyway here are a few pics of the truck in it's current state..........I did install a Dakota Digital dash and I want to throw out my kudos to the guys at Dakota.....I didn't want the normal teal or blue that Dakota uses to light up their dashes......so I had them make me a dash that lights up red.........I only did this because Lokar decided that everyone in the street rod world wants red for their shifter indicator........anyway, here are a few pics from today................btw, I went to the NSRA show here in Tampa and got a killer deal on these head lights...............

Re: 59 Chevy Build

Such a great documented build on this truck. I haven't checked on it in over a month, so it looks like you're really making some progress. Makes me wish I had a shop for our 58 GMC project to get torn down in. I miss working on trucks

You know............I am at the point where pics just wouldn't show the progress made. However I did install the seats, brake lines, emergency brake, new headers, and right now I am waiting for the glass man to get here to install the windshield. I appreciate the inquiry and I will post pics this weekend.........................
