Congrats/Sorry... to hear about the sell. Any words on the other project you mentioned to me at GG's?

If we can... keep this from becoming a FS thread otherwise your thread might end up getting locked.

yes its not a 4 sale thread its all on the for sale board now.. I just wanted to let everyone on this thread to keep a look out on the FS board for the stuff.

As for the project I mentioned to you at good guys.. i am unsure if that will happen or not.. I am planning to go look at the truck as soon as I can get to my hometown. If I fall in love with it then I might sell my harley and buy it.. Right now i am thinking I am going to keep my harley and just pay some bills off. Trying to do the right thing for my family.. Plus I have too many toys as it is.. my new house is clutered with my junk and I just need to get rid of some of it. I will keep you posted if i buy anything new.. The good thing is that I know I will be buying another truck at some point in my life.. I just want to buy one that is already pretty much done. I dont think it cost anymore in the long run. Most likely I will be looking to buy something that is also fuel injected and on air. It will probably be a few years.

Re: PROJECT LOW DOUGH -1967 shortbed

Can't blame you buddy. I think we've talked before, but I'm taking a slight break from a lot of my hobby's and focusing on family things. House remodeling (to sell and buy a bigger one), building the savings, blah blah blah. No game plan to life, but you'll find a better truck and like Keith and I have said a lot... with the cost of rebuilding a truck (even on a mild budget) it's generally cheaper to find one pretty well done and add your final touches too.

Can't wait to see what might be down the road for the Harley... air ride would be cool.

As for the Harley --I might do a 26 inch front wheel and convert it to a road glide or better yet just buy another one so I have two. (-; Okay I am dreaming.

It's about time you get back on here.

Re: PROJECT LOW DOUGH -1967 shortbed

Nate nothing really with fabbing. I bought a 2012 wrangler. Been toying with it. Also bought a m416 military trailer to pull behind.

Can't wait to get another truck. It will be a long project though. Just going to do this one the way I really want it.

Okay now... you can't mention the Wrangler and the trailer without any pictures to go along with the statement.

Re: PROJECT LOW DOUGH -1967 shortbed

Well guys I have a 1967 Chevy swb cab and frame sitting in my garage. I will start a new build thread soon with some pics. I bought just a frame and cab. It needs some minor repair but over all I am happy with the price I paid.
Once I get my basement finished - I plan to get this truck to the blaster and get it in primer.

I plan to go all Porterbuilt with a lq9 engine. It will be a long project but plan to do this one right.

Re: PROJECT LOW DOUGH -1967 shortbed

Okay now on to the new truck. I dont know if you can call it a truck or not. I bought basically a rolling chassis with Cab off of a guy from the board. I paid 350 for the entire truck. It actually is in pretty good shape. It has some light rust issues like they all do but this is by far the best start i have had. Someone sandblasted and then left it outside so it has a ton of surface rust so I will have it plasted very soon and then shoot it with primer. It will need the typical inner and outer rockers and cab corners.
I have had a ton of these projects and got sick of them from having all the parts laying around and my garage tied up storing them. I had made a decision about a year ago to buy a frame and cab and get a good foundation then buy part by part until it was finsihed. I figure since i plan to go all porterbuilt with a LSX engine I would scrap half the truck anyway. Since i am about 8 miles from Classic Parts I plan to get most of my body panels through them so they are straight and rust free. This project will be long and on going but I do plan to make this truck the way I want it.

Re: PROJECT LOW DOUGH -1967 shortbed

FYI I will be selling the wheels and tires, trailing arms, front crossmember with a arms spindles brakes. Also the exhaust.

How I need these items until I get a vin inspection done in order for me to obtain the title.
