Gas door opinion

Guys I need some opinions on what gas door you would choose between these two, keep in mind the truck will have both upper and lower trim. I like the curved one as i havent seen it used before but the rectangle one might fit the shapes of the marker lights better. Thanks Trevor

I like the curved one, but your truck is raised so the rectangle could be a lower option to reach up to for refueling. I getting older so you to add in these factors and I'm not that tall.

Neither. 88-98 Silverado/Tahoe/burb.

Looks excellent on fleets too.

The one you call "curved" is my choice. I fits the lines of the truck better. The square one would fit a 60-66 or 73+ better IMO

I like em both. But to me ... the gold one might edge it out a little because the corners match the edges and angles on the truck better.

rectangle on a flat surface, by far. I think it would look better fwd of wheelwell, in the 73+ stock location, but I'm assuming that's not gonna work based on tank location. Another option is the marker light filler approach. I think the curved surface approach will detract from the curved body line in that location personally. All look good though.

Take a look at the following after market door.

They have a template that you cut out and match against your truck and there is a spot that is a match. I don't know if it will fit between the moldings - you will have to check.

It looks like it's higher on the body than I envisioned mine would be is that because of the curves you had to work with or is there a benefit to filling the tank?

You running a square body blazer tank?

It had to go high in order to intersect the curve, because the door was curved, and the door was curved because sometimes its cool to do it the hard way - with a curved door.

Just FYI, when I did some research on keeping my triple tanks I found tha Ford vans had a dual tank option with mirrored doors, so you can harvest a door from each side and they match. Wouldn't be curved though, and only important if you're doing both sides.

Wouldn't the square bodies with saddle tanks also have mirrored doors? Just a thought.

Just to throw it in the mix here is a 95 door in my 69 fleetside. I didn't care for the square ones at the time I did mine.

Nitis, it's because I had to lower my bed cross members about 2" on my bed so that my cab matched my bed in height. My truck is on a c30 c&c chassis which is completely different from the c30 and down frames. With the 2" drop, the filler door would have been almost straight into my tank. Rather than having to spend 20 min clicking on and off at the pump, I went with this door, which I had never seen used before. Should be able to still use the blazer fuel neck from our generations and yes, I am using a modified 31 gallon 73-91 blazer tank.
