yes, front tires are rubbing inner fender well on dips and dips and turns. I either need a smaller tire or go up one inch. I think putting the stock spring back in with the 2 1/2 drop spindles will do the trick. I was in denial on the first road test but now I am going to have to deal with it.

17 x 7 on the front with 245/50/17 and 17 x 9.5 on the rear with 275/60/17 BF Goodrich tires.

That's weird it's rubbing...the tire is a lot shorter than a stock 235 75 15. Only 26.6" tall. So you wouldn't think it'd have any issues...almost seems like you got a 2 or 3" drop spring instead of a 1" spring now that I look at it more...That's not much fender well clearance for only 3 1/2" drop....

Re: lowered my truck today

Jonathan if that is the size I said I was running earlier it is wrong. I have 17 x 7 245/65/17 on front. Rear is correct as you quoted. the front are 28.5" inches tall

Re: lowered my truck today

Don't raise it up.
It looks good the way it is.

I vote for shorter front tires!

Re: lowered my truck today

shorter front tires may be the way to go if I can get them in 17s and not be too different from the rear in looks (tread)

Re: lowered my truck today

Very nice classy looking truck. White is a classic timeless color and your truck really looks super with the drop and classic rims.

That is exactly the drop I want to do to my longbox as well and was wanting to run 255/70R15's all the way around but they are 29.06 inches tall and your front 245/6517 tires are 29.54 inches tall and I do not want any rubbing issues but would like 4 tires the same size. .

Heres a question .. Does using the same size tire (for instance a 255/70R15) on a 8 inch rim instaed of a 7 inch lower the tire as the tire has to stretch more ( which should push it down?) to fit the 8 inch as opposed to the 7 inch.

Re: lowered my truck today

No it will not affect the tire height in the two different rims. Thanks for the compliments. Where did you get the 29.54" on my tire size info? the specs I found say 28.5"

Re: lowered my truck today

You might want to do a physical measurement. The tire size calculator I used also said 29.5" for that size tire.

I will. What calculator tool are you using? How would a 225/60/17 measure?

The 29.5 I think is just a rounded off number but since you asked, here is how I arrive at my tire sizes. I always take the section width ,in this case 245and times it by .03937 which gets to the width in inches which is 9.65 inches. The sidewall height ratio is 65% of the 9.65 which in this case is 6.27inches. Add the sidewall height height by 2 and the rim width ( 17 )in this case and :

17.00
6.27
6.27

29.54

According to my calculations the height should be 27.64 inches of you could use 27.6 with the 4 being 4/100ths of an inch.

Question Re: lowered my truck today

So how does it handle now that it is lowered? Is is more or less bumpy on the road? Just curious about the good and bad when the truck is lowered.

Re: lowered my truck today

It handles great. Overall I would say the ride is improved. Obviously I need to eliminate the rubbing in the front. Also one of the exhaust pipes now rubs the frame on bumps. I am planning a different exhaust system so I will eliminate that issue. There are always some issues when altering so you have to be prepared to identify and deal with them. The look of the truck now is outstanding and really draws attention. I am replacing front tires later this week and will post back the results.
