Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Friday afternoon and Saturday I spent putting the front carpet in, door sill plates, and seats. Windshield put back in on Thursday.

I drove to an appointment with an oral surgeon for a Biopsy on the roof of my mouth. My Wife drove me home , It was her first time driving my Blazer in the 5 years we have owned it.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

New body bushings/bolts, bumper guards, and tilt column and steering wheel.
Not sure about the new wheel, but I do like the smaller size, compared to stock. Sticks out like wooden nickel in the ol'Blazer, I'll give it a while.

You beat me to my next two projects.... How much fun was replacing the body bushings? Where did you get the replacement bolts and were you happy with them? Any issues replacing the steering column?
I'll stop at four questions. Thank you.

I just finished the following projects:
Brake lines, fuel lines, fuel pressure regulator and gauge, valve covers, plug wires, Stans headers... and some other things I can't remember.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

My buddy did body mounts, they were from Wes, and top of the line. Bolts were rusted but was about a 6 hr. Job, with lots of breaks. Steering column was a piece of cake, again from Les on the board, amazing work!

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

I checked my steering wheels today - happy to report no cracks despite low temps reaching into the -30s this winter. Next season I’ll bring the steer wheels in the house.

Did spark plugs and oil change. Found out heater core died over the winter.

Nice! Any issues with the trim clips backing out?

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

I got the tailgate band from Classic Parts. Honestly the one from LMC was a Trim Parts product and it was nicer.

I used original clips on the tailgate trim and the repop clips on the tail light trim. By gutting the tail lights you can get to back side the tail light trim clips. To get to the tailgate clips it's a PITA. No backing out yet but it been all of 8 hours.

Re: What did you do to your Blazer/Jimmy today?

Disassembled the cluster, cleaned, painted the needles and reassembled cluster in to a new housing. Body worked, primed and painted both inner fenders. Put the roll bar to use after painting the hood hinges, the grill supports and window washer bottle bracket.

I don't know about you but one of my favorite things to do is do the job I already paid someone to do. Only thing worse is doing the same job over and over again. Painted the roll bar and a few other odds and ends the paint shop neglected to paint.

Isn't that a roll bar for a 73- newer? How does it fit in a first gen?
