That's interesting. 1970 must have been the year GM was trying a lot of "one year" colors. My truck is a somewhat odd, but rare one year color called "dark gold".

Either way, great color and nice how it blends with the white to make a killer two-tone!

I thought it was made for doors? My buddy Chris borrowed it from a guy who builds hot rods. It's got arms and I thought it was made for doors. Chris likes to spray things all in uniform direction, he's got a method to putting on pigment and it works like a charm. I'll look for a manufacturer tomorrow when I take the pigment by, I think I can get a picture for you. It's pretty old, may be obsolete?

Sorry, Chris is the expert. Anybody close to Nashville who needs a really, really good body guy (you should see the gaps and lines on this thing) PM me and I'll give you Chris' number. He does excellent work and is fair. He has great credentials as well.

saxart: Upon doing a little more research, GM used the "53" code gold on a lot of vehicles under different color descriptions. It's "Camaro Gold" for 1970 Camaro's.. Also called "Nugget Gold" and "Coronado Gold Poly"... All on different models and years. They even put it on GMC Trucks, '71 and '72 I think. Not sure of the name. So, it's a more common color than I thought, just not for a Camaro.

Glad all you guys like the color. Got the bed painted today, ran out of color. Back to Dupont in the morning. All that's left to paint is the tailgate and the white on the lower part of the bed.

Thanks again Guys!

Nice choice of colors man. It'll look beautiful when it's finished. I recall that color back then also...Ed

Chris has the knack and then some! Great color choice, 1970 Camaro never looked that good.
