I love that green Gmc. Now I have smoke rolling out my ears because the gears are starting to turn. Lets see I have a 70 C60 427 5 speed 2 speed rear with a ok body removed the dump bed for another truck. I also have another 70 C60 366 body shot no bed and behind a local sawmill that we haul from is a 6x6 military truck that would make a great drivetrain donor. now where did I put my winning lotto ticket?

Shaved trim is cool , looks good on trucks, too

There's been a '57 6100 COE on ebay a couple of times, from Iowa, that looks cool! It's a running project, with a 454, hydro brakes, and a bunch of stuff with it. There are a few NEW medium-duty Chevy, GMC, Ford, and International pickups floating around Oklahoma City, sold mostly to the horse people, and they are slick!!!

Not a 67-72 but it's a 6x6 351 V-6 with an NP-540 5 speed, 2 speed t-case and 7.20 gears.

I see 67-72 C40-50-60 trucks everywhere around here. Most are still on the road too, being used as dump trucks, log trucks, equipment haulers, lime trucks, ect. I've noticed the bodies are usually in pretty good shape since they don't get driven a whole lot and sit high off the ground as said above. They also end up in local sale papers every now and then....most go for like $800-$2000.

I was toying with the idea of building a 1/2 ton short fleet 4x4 for a while now, with 6" lift and 35" tires you know to get noticed. But when I saw the green one OMG I love it. Deffenetly unique. Is that a home made 4x4 or did GM make a 4x4 version of these truck? If GM made these Im shure there hard to find. Also What wheelbase would that be? As I would want a short wheel base. Can you imagine the gas that thing gulps.

The 6x6 was originally used by a power company to dig in electrical poles. The front drive axle added traction when they needed it on rough or swampy terrain. A lot of these trucks with front drive axles were NAPCO conversions similar to the ones on the smaller trucks in the 50s. GM started building 4x4s (1/2 and 3/4 ton) using their own axles in 1960 so the only NAPCOs you'll see after that are 1 ton and larger. They were available into the 70s.

Those front ends look very similar to gmc/chev school busses that were made up til 84.(fiberglass tilt after that)Very little if no change...May be a place to look for parts.

And I might buy me a C50 like the blue one. It's a short dump w/ two speed rear axle and has the 10 lug bud wheels. Has a strong 366 and the hydraulics work great. Just needs a master cyclinder.
