Re: exhaust tube routing.

Are you looking for photos of exhaust tubing routed to the inside of the frame rails, or to the outside?

Re: exhaust tube routing.

See post 159 of my '64 build thread. There's some shots of what my exhaust looks like. 2.25" pipe, routed between the frame rails, between the trailing arms, and tailpipes dumping behind the rear wheels.

Re: exhaust tube routing.

I'm running a true-dual setup with a side dump. It runs outside the frame 95% of the way, and tucks under the rockers. You can see it going together around the 3rd or 4th page on my build.

Re: exhaust tube routing.

3-inch tubing routed to the outside of the frame rails...

...muffler located behind the cab, under the bed with turn out in front of the rear tire...

Re: exhaust tube routing.

Here's a piss poor shot but it's 3inch and comes out right before the tire. It is hanging below the frame tho.

Re: exhaust tube routing.

good set-up vin63. on familyfast64 i'm trying to stay above frame rails because i'm gonna lower the truck 5 1/2 front and 6 rear i would have no room there.

Re: exhaust tube routing.

I understand, just thought you might have full length headers. I agree tho, tucked up right is nice, but I will say mine is lowered and I have room but it's not slammed. Your progress looks awesome tho keep it up.

Yep, that's why I routed my exhaust to the outside of the frame to keep the entire system above the bottom of the frame rails. The 4L80E transmission and mount prevented me from running the exhaust to the inside of the frame. Here are a few photos as I was pie cutting and tack welding for the compound curves of the head pipe, and mocking up the rest of tubing and muffler...
