Re: Another New Grill on a 72 Stepper.........

some of these conversion and "retro" kits are horrific. i mean its ok if you do all of the custom modifications your self, but the fact that they have kits to turn the 87+ trucks into 60's models and kits like this one to turn a classic into something that looks newer just kinda irritates me. that b&m shifter looks like the zgate that i put in the abomination

Hmmmm... personally I think it's bad enough guys are sticking newer style beds on the older trucks...

That front end looks cheezed and that's not because I think they did a bad job. It looks clean and looks like a lot of work went into it.

I just don't think the newer style front end complements the lines of the '67-'72 design.

It's hard to improve on perfection... I think anyway...

Thinking about changing the look of your stepper Rick?

If you're gonna do that much work on a truck(I wouldn't do it that way) you should at least fix the driprail. The truck looks Ok for a driver but why let the rust run down the windsheild and spoil the effect you were going for.

Re: Another New Grill on a 72 Stepper.........

Aw Jeez!!

Why is it these trucks are so fixated on that someone would want to use it mindlessly to try to make something it isn`t? I mean,I drive them because I like them.We all like them and we change them in our own ways. But we don`t try to turn it into a modern-looking truck.I like and drive newer GM trucks, too! Don`t we like these because they "don`t" look like new trucks????????

<< Post a link.I want to see if there`s any pictures showing if it has coils or other clues >>

EDIT!!!.........

Shoulda put an E-lade nose on it

I don't think it looks bad, but not what I would do.

Re: Another New Grill on a 72 Stepper.........

I'm not gonna lie, I think it looks badass.

What I don't like/would change.

Interior is just... YUK!

I hate those damn step beds, once again the fender's don't match!!!!

I'd put a 67-72 fleet on it and graft the 99+ fender wells onto it.

Mirrors are fugly and need to go.

Didn't someone else do this too? I think it was black and looked A LOT better than this one?

Also, was this a northeast truck??? People tend to experiment a lot more when they realize the project truck they bought was a rusted out piece of ****.

http://www.sporttruck.com/techarticl...cks/index.html

Read the above article...the design of our trucks make them the Gustav's, the Vincent van Gogh's, the Pablo Picasso's, the Michelangelo's, the Jean-Francois Millet's, the Claude Oscar Monet's, the Raphael's, or the Leonardo De Vinci's of Iconic truck design. Why mess with artistic perfection. Ok...you all have gotten my point. JMHO!
