Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!

I was wondering how a patina'd truck similar to mine would look with the chromed out grille......i like it. Kinda makes me want to try it but not sure if it would still look right......

Re: Post pics of your 47-59 Chevy trucks!

I have a '63, so I don't really belong here. But about 100-years ago, I learned how to drive on an old '47 early series that my dad had:

We spent a lot of time going to swap meets and junkyards and such looking for parts and accessories for that. It was a pretty weak 6-volt, so my dad always tried to park on an incline so I could push start it. It still had all the original cardboard headliner with the guys oil change notes penciled-in from the 40s/50s.

Later, dad had this '57. When he sold it, it had some Chevy truck rally wheels and stuff on it. It had a 327 in it, but it looked absolutely stock under the hood. I always wondered what happened to it. The SS 454 was new, so that kind of gives you a time frame of when it was around.

FWIW.
