Bobby,

After 7 months, what's your opinion on the sound damping? If you had the chance to do it again, would you have gone with the 2 layers?

I guess it depends on how quiet you want it.

I run dual 2.5" exhaust with a pair of DynoMax Super Turbo mufflers, not that loud untill you get into it.I don't have a problem with it's sound level. It's definitly quieter than it used to be.

A second layer?I don't know.I don't think I need it.But again it's all in your own personnal preferance.

The more you use the quieter it gets.

Hell if you want it that quiet put a pair of foam ear plugs in before you get in your truck:p

Are you going for that "new car quiet"?

No, not new car quiet. I AM looking for quiet enough to have a conversation with my passenger, though.

I had flowmasters for a couple of weeks. Traded them back to the muffler shop when I started setting off car alarms and noticed kids covering their ears as I drove by (really!)

I just bought some stuff off Ebay, similar to Brown Bread and Dynomat, but you get more for your money. For $99, I get 100sq ft, versus I think 65 sf with Brown Bread. Almost enough to do two layers in a truck cab. Comes with roller and degreaser to clean surface before laying it down. Can't remember the name right now, all the info is on my computer at home. Can forward info when I get home. I haven't received it the liner yet, so I can't give any accurate info on its quality.

Cool Fat Mat...

Fat Mat is the name of what I bought on Ebay. Check it out...sounds pretty good!! 100 sq ft for $99, plus $29 shipping. Comes with roller, and cleaning powder....awesome deal for the price, I think! Steve is the guys name, and 814-663-6071 is the number. Didn't seem too personable, but am sure he can tell you about the product. Will take pics of the install...however, BobbyK has some good pics, and all the information. Wish me luck installing!!! Here is the link to the ebay item I got.

Is the only place to purchase the brown bread through ebay. do you think that it is better than b-quiet extreme that they also sell.what did you cut it with and should you pre cut for all the bolt holes in the floor.?

Guys follow the link to the B-quiet site and read the results of independent tests. Brown Bread comes out on top.

I bought a roll and had it installed in the doors and behind the door panels on my 77 Cheyenne. It make a HUGE difference in the quietness inside my cab just putting it in the doors.

I love to show people the difference it makes by tapping on the front fender right by the door, then tapping on the door. It's like hitting an empty tin can vs a full tin can. It really, really works.....

Has anyone tried 2 layers? I was planning on Dynomatting the crap out of my truck for a very serious stereo. I don't need all that bass, but it will be crystal clear at deafening volume.

That looks really nice. Once I replace all the rusty panels in my 69, I will have to do that.

When I installed it I laid it over everything then I cut the holes.
I used a box cutter to cut around the holes and various bolts, then peeled it off.
Pretty simple really.

As far as getting it IN the doors.I precut the Brown Bread slightly bigger that the door width then turned it on it's side and slid it down the window channel(from the top of the door).
Once it was in the door I turned it lengthwise again and slowly peeled the backing off as I stuck it to the inside of the door.
As you can tell,it's pretty damn tight inside the doors,so it did take some time to do...but it is doable.

I also ended up covering the inside of the door panels as well.
