Here's a white 9-footer that I wanted to purchase a few years back. I'm kinda fond of the 9-footers myself!

Re: 67-72 Longsteps!

Let's keep this thread alive. Here is the one my son and I are going to restore for him.

I agree they're awesome and look better as a 4x4. Anyone know where I can get the frame for that conversion ??

That thing is different. The tail end is bobbed.

Here`s mine .I`m sitting on this one hoping to build a K/20 or 30:

The cab:

Donor...3/4t frame,31 gal.tank w/skidplate,4.10 Gov-Loc,Warn Premiums,4L80E/NP241,4" EZ-Rides/Rancho 9-way adj.shocks,and new custom 3" dual exhaust:

That was in better days. It`s got a blown motor, mashed left 1/4,hit in front left, rusting top, rust started in rockers and behind rear wheels. All fixable.Right now it`s just a dream.

Is that just a longbed? I have a 67 K10 long fleet that I've been waffling about selling. Let me know. I'm in So. Central MN.

Re: 67-72 Longsteps!

Anyone know where to find repop''s or decent long steps? I have looked at several vendors and that is the one part I can't seem to find new. Is this something I could find at Carlisle, or should I post a WTB? I have a 72 long-step GMC that currently has 60-66 fenders and boards on it.

Re: 67-72 Longsteps!

Those are what my lil brother likes to refer to as Klan trucks...

You know...The ones you see in movies with all the idiots hangin off the sides in their white robes and hoods chasing some poor soul across a field. That extra foot plus the usual wrap around rear bumper gives em plenty of places to stand and shake their pitchforks!

Apparently he grew up watching entirely too much TV!

I love em keep em coming!!

Re: 67-72 Longsteps!

Here's a couple shots of mine.
It ain't purdy, but I like it; & that's all that matters.

At the time of the pictures, I was repairing a ton of front end collision damage.
It's now back on the road & a daily driver.

I have a '71GMC that has a passenger side mounted spare tire holder without the cut-out. I haven't seen one like that here.

The '67 my son and I have has no spare-tire cutout, just a hole where the spare-tire mount ripped out of the bedside on some nebraska farm-road... Many of the trucks on this thread have no cutout. But ours had the spare on the drivers side, maybe that's what you meant, yours was on the passenger side...

Most of the ones that the spare tire mounts on the fender had the cut-out. None of the ones here has a tire mounted on the side or has the spare tire mount without a cut-out in fender is all I was saying. All of the other LWB steppers I've had had the tire mounted under the truck, or had a cut-out fender and was mounted on the side.
