Re: Tail light fuel filler

I was able to fab everything up for little cost with a Marine filler neck /cap assy, handsome plate metal from Atwoods. It took me 2 or 3 times making one from scratch to get it right, but once you get started it's not that big of a deal. You just have to cut away quite a bit behind the drivers tail light assembly.

Re: Tail light fuel filler

thanks man. i have no problem making one from scratch. its just with work and the kids, it would be great to just buy one pre-fabbed, ready to tack in there

ive seen one guy run his through the reverse light. after youve done this, do you think that would be easier or harder than the tail light?

thanks

Re: Tail light fuel filler

I understand about you not wanting to have one yourself. I felt the same way, but not being able to buy one, I had no choice. I definitely would not try to do on through the reverse light, there is not enough space!

I'd be interested in a bent one, but what's involved to install?

What is needed to order a bent piece from you? Be happy to work it out, however you want.

What a cool way to do this. I have actually been brain storming on how and where to do a filler hole... This may be the one. Give me something to look forward to when I get to the bed.

Then its settled... this will be done. Only other question would be.. what fuel cell needs to be used that has the fill hole on the side?

I am using a Boyd's Tank but you could easily use a OEM Suburban/Blazer tank to save some money...

Wynne, does the guy that was building them with you have any for sale? Or, will he still build any?

c10crewcab.com has them listed for sale. Not cheap, but that’s the only place I’ve seen making them

Re: Tail light fuel filler

Hugger did you ever get a printable template of your design?
I would love to be able to make one of these. Even just measurements for the pieces and where the bends are would be awesome.
