Hey is there a website where I can find out what a code means? I did the dianostic on my burb and got code 33 MAF/MAP sensor too high and code 43 Electronic Spark Control Failure

No! Matter of fact lastnight we had monsoon type storm blow through kansas city and I ran out to roll up my windows. I only got them halfway up then I lost power. I covered the windows with trashbags and waited 2hrs for the storm to move on.
Then I went back out and tried to get power back again, when I turn the key over nothing happens. So I thought maybe dead battery. I tried to jump it and got nothing.
I remember the Previous Owner saying he was having trouble with blown "fusas" so I'm on my way to auto parts to get fuses and battery tested. Also get some sensors and I will change spark plugs and wires today. I will let ya know how it goes.

That'd be the same storm that rolled through here I bet yesterday evening. I forgot I left my windows cracked a little on my 05 due to the heat. I have vent visors but I guess the wind was blowing the rain hard enough that my seats got a little wet. As long as I don't get a musty smell it'll dry up by noon today and all will be good.

The battery may be causing some of the codes as well. If it's not putting out enough juice it could be affecting how the sensors are reading things. Just my guess. I don't know that for sure.

I check the battery and its ready correct voltage. I just finished changing spark plugs and wires. Its about 100* outside. But I'm determined to get it running.

I hope Joe can get you all hooked up on photos. I'm down here at the shop now (working in the night trying to beat the temps) and looking at my burb. It's basically worthless for photos that you need since we got the top of the engine torn down, front end off, no core support etc. I have a cluster of wires and hoses just laying there more or less.

It finally stopped raining and my buddy came over to help out, apparently the previous owner paid a mechanic to "fix wiring" from the starter to the ecm. But after closer investigation all he got for $300 was some electrical tape on bad wiring job. So I've got the starter out and going to rewire some of the misc feeds that are coming off the main harness etc. The fusible link cable had a big chunk missing which maybe the cause of why I wasn't getting much power to my accessories. Only time will tell.

Wow, almost sounds like you're under the hood of my burb! Except its PO told me about it and told me what he did to "make it start". Basically involved some wire cutters, electrical tape, removing the fuseable links (starter and firewall) and jumping wires together here and there.

To be safe, I always undid the battery when I'd park it.

It actually scare the **** outta me, I was under the burb pulling on wires trying to see where they went and the starter arced and turned over. The key wasn't even in the ignition!

The previous owner did give me the receipts from his shade tree "machanic" but they say $160 to fix bare wires. Then 5days later he had it towed to the same mechanic and they charged him $120 to trace and repair wrong wires from battery to ecm. All they did was put some electrical tape on the wire from the starter and disconnect the fusible link.
You guys know how it goes, if ya want something done right, best to do it yourself.

I will be happy when my power windows and locks work properly again. The trash bag method worked well the past couple of days to keep all the rain out.

This was also what was done to the wiring on my Dooley the wire from the alternator to starter had 8 of these conecters on less a foot of wire

every thing was hacked togther
