Do I need a adj panhard bar?

I'm installing 4 inch drop rear coils in my 70. I'm definitely going to put a shock relocator kit on it, but do I need the adjustable panhard bar?

Yes. It is recommended by ECE to use it with a 4" or greater rear drop.

yes sir, from what I have heard, anything over a 3" drop requires and adjustable bar

Put your springs in without it and measure for center on the rear-end.

I have 4" drop springs too. What about getting some good measurements and shortening a stock panhard bar?

Ive got at least a 4" drop in the rear and I still have the stock bar. It looks centered. I do have a ECE one but it wont clear the tailpipe on the driver side due to the thicker diameter.

could this be why when i dropped my truck 3 up front and 5 in the rear i have a tilt to the left in the rear? Thing seems to handle fine but i have that damn lean

I have 4.5" of rear drop and have not yet put in an adjustable bar. Eventually I probably will, but it is not "off" enough to cause me any heartache at this point. Truck tracks straight and does not look cockeyed or crooked. Just my .02 worth.

Shortening a stock bar? Probably not worth the effort, since you'd want to get it so "right" and then you could eventually change your ride height and then it would be wrong again.

I thought the rule of thumb was that you don't want the bar to run "upward" at all. No? If it is, then you can be sure that your rear-end (your truck's I mean :p) is not moving up and down correctly.

I'm running 4-inches of drop in the rear, with the adjustable track bar. My rear end is centered, and the alignment is spot-on with factory specs (2.5 inch drop in front). I also have the rear shock relocator mounts and shorter shocks.

It sounds like I need to install the springs and then see if my panhard bar is going upwards. If I needed to buy one where's the best place?

I have seen it both way we put a 5in drop under my sons trck and under a burb we are working on and did not need one then I have seen a 4in drop that does need one. We do keep them in stock. Tim
