Dim Headlights

I have a 1969 Custom, that has been rebuilt. But my headlights are dim. Even if I give it more RPM's I don't get any brighter light. Any ideas???

thanks
Chris

have you made sure all your grounds are right such as the little box on the fender with wiring has to be bolted to fender do you have ground straps from the engine to the chassy battery to engine?

Sounds like 71 has the idea, sounds like a bad ground.Take the ground wire to the light harness off,and make sure the contact area is clean.

check your gounds like above and if that doesnt work test your headlight plug with a meter to see if you are getting around 12v. you could also try this i did it to mine and it made a difference http://www.madelectrical.com/electri...adlights.shtml

Welcome to the board...where you from?
If you look on the rad core support, you'll see a ground wire on the passenger side...I think it's on the pasenger, either way, find that ground wire, and pull it off, scrape the paint from under the wirre, clean the eyelet too, then you should be good...asuming the problem is not more like truck not charging.

i bought 2 relays(one for low beams and one for high beams) and wired it myself. on my truck i belive there is a ground on both sides. and if you do the relays you have to put them on the drivers side before the first plug or you will only be powering one from the relays and one from the stock wiring.
