Thanks! The paint must be an old Maaco, or Earl jobbie. It's peeling all over the place. I'm gonna bring her back to factory color, red with the black/white top? It has a 4 inch body lift which is rotted out. First thing I gotta do is drop it. I had my fun in a 96 Bronco, which was up in the air, I want this baby to be a stock lift...that's it. I still have a LOT to learn about her, all I know is I love this rig! I have looked up and down all over for one, this one dropped right into my lap.

Looks sharp. I actually like the color, but I can understand wanting to bring it back to the stock set up. It looks to me like more than 4" of lift. I'd guess you've got some suspension lift under there too.

I second that... I have 33's on mine, and my tires still sit in the wells a bit with a 4" lift. Those look like 33's and they are clearing the wells with some room to spare.

You probably have 4" suspension and 3" body. Personally unless it is custom or stacked, I have never heard of a 4" body. That, plus the fact the front bumper gap looks like a typical 3" body lift gap. I have been wrong before though. Definitely taller then 4" over stock though.

Hey, if that lift turns out to be a 6", I will take it off of your hands when you remove it! (vultures moving in)

Yeah, I noticed the shackles on the rear. I just want to drop the body lift, because it's causing problems with the brake lines and power steering. Who ever did it, didn't do it right. All I know is, it's in MY hands now.

Welcome to the best board, especially for first Generation blazers. I'm planning to paint my 72 silver, so I sure am glad to see yours. It gives me an idea of what I might see in the future.

I'd drop the body lift too. You definately don't need it and I aways think they look better if the bumpers line up correctly. What size engine is that? The alternator is on the wrong side for a stock 350.

I was told that it was possibly a 307? But I thought it was a 350. The guy I got it from wasn't sure if it was one or the other. I'm not too familiar with engines...help?

Welcome from WA and nice rig! You can look up the engine by the numbers on the block. Right behind your alternator, just in front of the edge of the head, the block number is stamped. Get the number and look it up on mortec.com. That'll at least tell you what size and year block you have. I like that color though and the lift. Same slots as my blazer as well. Jeff.

Nice truck, I'm doing the same with my truck, I had my fun in my old 72. This one I have kept stock height and and put some aftermarket wheels on (17's). Though I do love the slots. good luck you seem to have a good starting point.

Nothing wrong with a body lift if done properly. Just make sure you put a decent u-joint on the steering shaft and extend anything that seems too tight. I have a 3 incher and like it. If you ever want to go big, you'll wish you had it. Some modification required though to line the bumpers up but worth it.
