upgrading stock motor

my blazer has a '85 K5 motor in it. im having it rebuilt. i dont want it too powerful, just enough for passing,mudding, and pulling(everyday driver). carbs?intake manifold?cams?headers? just let me know what you all think. and i want to say thanks to all that replied to my last thread, and welcoming me to this site! i plan on installing a 6inch superlift and '35s

HEADERS - CHEAP AND EASY BOLT ON 4 LIL HP
INTAKE - MORE INVOLVED BUT GOOD HP / TQ
CARB - SAME AS ABOVE, 2 BIG CAN HURT THOUGH
CAMS - VERY INVOLVED BUT VERY GOOD HP / TQ
AIR CLEANER - OPEN STYLE GIVES YA A FEW PONY'S
HEADS - EXPENSIVE - ALOT MORE HP AND TQ
SHORT BLOCK - GIVES MORE TQ THAN HP GENERALLY
CRATE MOTOR - THE SKY'S THE LIMIT

There are alot of different stuff out there And I think alot of ppl use Edelbrock stuff you can get everything from Carbs, Intakes, Cams, Heads. The Performer line and Performer RPM line are Designed to work together.
For headers I like Thorleys some members have used Flow tech, Headman, and Hookers.

72 K5 that needs lots of parts..
71 GMC 3/4 4x4 That doesn't need much which is a good thing I don't think I could aford another money pit...

If you're going to put 35s on it, you will best served to spend $$$ on a rear end/front end gear change.

Call a reputable cam manuf. (crane, comp, etc) and tell them your current gear ratio, tire size, power desires. They will help you decide on the rest.
