how hard to find

Hey guys,
thought you could help.I'm looking to build a 47-55 1st series some time this summer. Here what i have so far.I bought an origanal frame for $300.00 I have also purchased a bed for $100.00.How hard will it be to find a good cab, with good title? My plan is to leave the body alone as the differnt colors will add charactor,I want disc brakes front drum rear, like to lower it a bit and drive it do death. The engine is a six that has a stuck valve but i have a redone 283 small block form a 65 nova and a 350 turbo tranny.any help you guys could give would be great. Also thought about the s-10 frame swap is that really as good as some make it out to be,Ive seen it in a couple of magines and so what speed shop did one that was in the readers rides in the new truckin.I have a long bed frame that i could use.I just dont. Thanks again

Well, I just found my 55 1st a month ago for 400 bucks. On cab choice, it depends on which cab you want? They were different up to 53 I think, those cabs had the spilt windshield, 54-55 1st had one piece curved windsheild. Dunno about one with a title, but in Alabama, vehicles before 1975 weren't required to have titles I'd check ebay, last time I looked, there were a couple of 47-55 good cab trucks, for like 100 bucks. Front disc conversion is about 300-400 bucks. I believe CPP has a 3" front drop axle for 150 or so? Hope this helps?

I can help you find a decent cab. I am not all that far North of you. One of my buddies has some stuff.
Have a couple buddies with lots of parts for these trucks. Let me know.
