Rob....no offense...but the quality of the pics is not the greatest....on Ebay it seems to me the best pics get the best bids....just my 2c...

Can you define quality? Picture clarity? How I'm photographing? Location of photo? Clarity of pictures? Can you be more specific? I know I didn't take professional photos, but I thought they gave a good representation of the vehicle. Any insight would be helpful.

I like the pics. If I was interested that would be enough to get me asking more questions. Hard to buy real expensive item sight unseen for me. Pics tell alot of the story though.

Beautiful truck... pictures look fine to me.

The higher dollar, non-exotic vehicles, I've seen seem to get similar responses. I'll say this from a friend having experienced it; you will likely get e-mails and calls at the end of the auction if you do not sell it to either come look at the truck and/or negotiate a deal. Many times E-bay merely gets the door open to potential buyers and serves as a starting point for negotiations.

Man.. nice truck. I think the pics are ok, if someone is interested enough to buy they will ask for more if theyre not satisfied with what you got. I personally think your target market is going to be very small though, and might take a few times listing a truck like that.

Nice Truck, but I think the only way you would get $43k for it is at a Barret Jackson auction. setting your buy it now price so high might scare bidders away because they think your reserve is probably pretty close to that so why bother?

You already have 5 bids on that beautiful truck and a day+ left. Many people wait to bit at the last minute, especially on expensive items.

Regarding your pics, there is nothing wrong with them. I've been buying/selling on ebay for 6 years

I think you're asking for too much love from ebay members. Ebay users generally think they are going to walk away with something for little to nothing. I made a mistake of selling my old CJ-7 on ebay. In that case I walked away a bit sore in the rear end. I'd suggest finding another avenue. Even auto trader is less expensive than a week on ebay.

Very nice truck. My dream truck actually. But when you get into that much money, it takes a special buyer. It depends on how bad you want to sell. If you want it gone drop your price or if you have time, let it sit and try other advertising avenues. It took me 9 months to sell my other 71 camaro (one in my avatar). Ran high 8's, street legal, 540 cu in, straight as an arrow. I could go on and on. Everything new. Sold for around $20k. Took a beating, but I had a new car in the works.

i think your "buy-it-now" price has eliminated any real serious interest in the truck. try getting an application from barrett-jackson go thru thier screening process and see if they'd accept you for one of thier sales

Thanks everybody for the input. I'm not sure why I put a buy it now price, I should have just went with the reserve which is $40k. I've probably got $60K in it (If I give myself $1 an hour for my labor!). It won't be the end of the world if it doesn't sell.

I agree, the buy it now price being what it is, then seeing the reserve isn't met - I think you're turning off alot of buyers. Just my opinion. And yeah, if it's a $40k truck the pictures should be taken professionally if you don't have a good enough camera. You're going to have to give people a reason to buy it, instead of hoping someone gives you a reason to sell it...

Since everyone else is critiquing your auction, I will too. I see two things that I would never put in an auction, the first of which is including S. America in it, and secondly, not blocking out your tag #. With all of the scam artists there are on ebay, I would never mess with selling a vehicle out of the country, and your tag # can be a way to get to your personal info. Pics are passable, but could have been better, and you only have one of the engine, I would think you should have put a few different engine compartment pics in there.
Now on the positive side, that is a cool truck man! Nice work!

Rob....like I said I meant no offense....the pictures seemed to be lacking in crispness.....if you look at some of the higher end ads the pictures are all crystal clear with close ups of detail items. This allows the buyer to see the amount of work and detail that is in the vehicle and also the quality of the work..Like I said my 2c....maybe I am off base here....Paul

None taken, I just wasn't exactly sure what you were talking about. I don't use Ebay a lot, so trying to figure out what is the best way to sell is a learning experience. I won't lose any sleep if it doesn't sell.

first off, your truck is absolutely gorgeous . like mentioned before. try not to show a buy it now price. i usually get the best results by dumping a photobucket link with big huge pictures on it that they can scroll down through. where you live depends on alot too, around here a truck like that would sell for about $28,000 or so. a guy in town just sold a 56 chevy that was immaculate, tilt front end, big block 18" wheels. anyway he wanted $25 for it and it took about 4 months to sell and he finally had to take about $18. i don't know if there's not much market out there or what.

the thing that grabs people the most is the underneath shot. it seems like the bid goes up a ton when they get those pretty shots of the underneath of it when it's up on a lift. also the checkerboard floor seems to grab alot of attention. look at theis one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...557894470&rd=1 my buddy from triton boats does all of his fiberglass work. his name is jimmy chambers and he always has high $$$ cars on ebay. he uses the checker floor display alot.

he has a high dollar shop and his own tv show. the funny thing is i used to install car stereos for him back when he was just starting. he had a little car lot in and old dairy queen building. now he's worth a couple mill. i'm sure. shoulda stayed there ha?

Never get $$$ back in Labor...that is just the price we pay for having this "Hobby" or obsession or whatever you want to call it.

If your not desperate to sell it right now, I would suggest taking it to the "Turkey Rod Run" in Daytona over Thanksgiving weekend...quite a place and lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$ buyers usually. I'll be down there looking for a new cab for my '33

People who want your truck want to see it in person.

And the Buy it now is probably scaring the Ebayers Away.

not to mention $$$ seems to be on the tight side for everyone these days so that is a rather heafty purchase.
