Just thought i would share my progress on smoothing the firewall. It's nice to be able to show someone who can appreciate what i have done. My wife just say's yeah it looks ok.

Very nice.....a lot lot nicer than the ticket I got from Houma's finest years ago.

One thing about Houmas finest, if you know someone there no problem. I take the DA duck hunting so he takes care of all mine.

Loking good! I have not tackled that part yet. I still have about 15'-0" of welding to do to finish up the bed from the body drop then I will start on the engine bay. As far as wifes go my EX was that way (ether one of you guys married to a blond DA

) Now my GF wants to be out their helping me work on the toys. Not sure witch one is better.

never really noticed it before, but it is kinda an eye sore. I probably will when i fill the little gutter on top the part that sticks out.

My self I have a vintage air set up that tucks under the dash and keeps the fire wall empty to show off some smooth paint! Mine is not to that stage yet. I have 2" removed across my fire wall as part of the body drop and it is now time to start on smoothing out the rest. I also tucked my Engine back into the wall 2" to give more room in front for the super charger in the future.

with vintage air you dont need the factory firewall parts? you can shave it?

Yes you do not need anything out side the firewall. All your stock holes can be shaved and if you want you can even shave the "bump out" portion of the wall but I think it looks better with the body lines left in.

Yea, I shaved mine and had the wire passage on the top welded up too.

Question for ya! Is teh "wire passage" only for wires or is it also a kind of drip rail for water diversion?

gregfull~ Looks great! Are you going to color match the wall or go with somthing different?

Yeah, it's also a rain gutter along with a wire tray. I pretty much eliminated all the wires on that side with the Painless Harness for the fuel injection. A heck of a lot cleaner now.
