My turn to start the what did you get done this weekend thread

Ok, well, still working on getting the rearend swapped out on the Z28. I got the springs, brake lines and all misc stuff put back on and got it under the car, but the rear of the leaf springs doesnt' want to slide up into the shackes, so I'll bring home a rubber mallet from work tomorrow and have another go at it. It's nice to have a detailed part under the car that now I have to worry about scratching, because before I would have gotte the springs in with a BFH!

I worked on the Jimmy. The Holley was running really rich, so I replaced the fouled plugs. Then I adjusted the float level and idle mixture. It's an improvement, but I still have a little ways to go. When I started yesterday I knew NOTHING about carbs, so the biggest thing is that I am learning something

I started the 70 and drove it around the yard. Spent most of Saturday morning redoing the brakes on my daughter's 96 Bonneville. Looks like it will become the taxi for me to haul my her and 2 other girls back and forth to their school in Columbus (250 miles each way) every month. Did some yard work and a few other piddly things. I hope to spray a few more pieces for the 70 next weekend depending on this sauna weather.

Power steering installed on the 66
Painted the header (so far it's holding up)
Resealed the tranny (all except the front seal)
Tuned on the Holley
Finished painting the dash
Got the stereo installed

Palf....250 miles...I'll assume you are talking about Cols GA huh? bummer.

I replaced all the fuel lines under mine, didan awsome job bending them if I do say so my self... moved the electric fuel pump down under the cab instead of mounted on the engine since they prefer to push instead of pull...and since I've been having fuel delivery problems anyways.
Turns out, the fuel pump as enough power to shoot fuel pretty hard when you test it. (one hose in a pan of fuel, and another short section to spray it) however, when hooked to a real system, it just doesn't have the power to move it. Spoke to our NAPA representive nad he tells me they've had a rash of the inline carter pumps being returned.
So I get to replace the pump tomorow.

No Andy, Columbus, MS It's about an hour west of Birmingham, Alabama. Everything is a haul from the coast, so traveling half the state gets you almost to civilization.

Drove alot (500 miles?)

Got the rear bumper, bed and tow hitch off of my donor truck.

Picked up two new doors, a great bedside and an awesome tailgate (thanks Kurt).

Architected (read day dreamed) how I can make the holes in a blazer tail gate work for a tonneau latching system.

Cut 2 3" holes in the crossmember and welded in 3" OD pipe for exhaust passages.

Got sucked into more driving (thanks Kurt)

Hung out with Kurt and rode around in his nice green Blazer.

Tomorrow is more work on the snortbed.

Replaced the fuel pressure regulator in the 96

fixed the squeek in the front end of the 96

pressure washed the 35 years of gunk off the 70's frame so i can finish taking it apart so i can ship it out to get blasted

Made a few changes

Removed the bed so we could start sanding and painting the frame.
Pulled the bumper and listed it so we can prepare for the roll pan.
Started welding up the chrome holes on the passenger side of the truck.
Repainted the dash gauge panel and reinstalled.
Received our mesh to close up/hide the front openings in the grill.
Awaiting arrival of our brake power booster and master cylinder.
Shipped front chrome out to board member.
Still have some bow ties to remove and C10 emblems if anyone needs some.

I did some more bodywork on my '67 C-50, and bought weatherstripping for my '67 C-30. I also finally hauled home the '71 GMC C1500 that I recently bought.

Had the windshield installed on my newly rebuilt 70 GMC (flipped it in November) and painted flames on Wootdogs 68 Chevy.

I put me new accel HEI and plug wires in my 70. And I put the new window weather striping in it. Much nicer to ride in now.

I went to an airshow, paid $3 to walk inside a B-25 Mitchell bomber, and no-one died doing stunts..a good time.

-finally passed smog on my 77
-went to dmv
-changed plugs in my 69 and adjusted timing...amazing what that can do
-installed stereo in honda commuter
-installed half cab on 69...too cool

Fixed my oil pan oil leak. Leveled 5 yds of crush-n-run at the end of my driveway. Helped my sons assemble and paint a 55 chevy cameo model and a 57 chevy truck model.

1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

i replaced the intake gaskets,water pump,and spark plugs on my '97 gmc z-71.all the parts were oem with 148,500mi. on them.

lol good question Well i started my old truck up and pulled home another 3-wheeler which made the wife happy and then i went to look at a Geo Storm which wan't bad for a $100 bucks runs air conditioner works and not bad for the price so i'll probably pick it up for oldest daughter or wife just to drive around town since my big van sucks gas, checked on my 70 Gmc behind a mechanic garage need to part out a ford truck i have so i can bring home this other 70 for my boy he's 10 thought would be a good project for him when he starts to drive it'll will be cherry, and finally sunday did very little layed around because it was raining and watched nascar....Terry

Took her camping on her 1st shake down run - 250miles 1 way to the Downeast Street Rods Annual Rod Run in Hebron, ME

Wednesday the 17th drover her around the block to check shift points/rattles/leaks/brakes etc.etc.

Thursday morning = Drove her from Rhode Island to Hebron, Maine (About 250 miles 1 way)
She Performed Flawlessly. Approx 14gallons of Gas used = 17.85miles/gal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not bad for the old girl. I guess the 700R4 helped out alot. That's running 65-70mph the whole way & loaded with about 300lbs of Camping Gear/Soda/Booze etc.etc.

On the way home Sunday we were crusing @ about 80-85mph she got about 15.5-16

we traded off our Grand Garavan for a 2002 40th anniversary supercharged Pontiac Grand Prix. Haven't even started my truck in 2 weeks with the price of gas being over 4 bucks per gallon
