Re: Update on intermittent wiper switches

That looks pretty cool. Just wondering if I would be able to use my 67 wiper knob on your switch?

Re: Update on intermittent wiper switches

Will you sell the harness without the switch? I already bought a switch.
Thanks Rick

Re: Update on intermittent wiper switches

Will the original/factory knob fit the switch? So as to keep the original look?
Looks awesome.

Re: Update on intermittent wiper switches

Absolutely. Simply use a 1/4" drill bit to enlarge the existing hole and the set-screw will hold it in place. This is also covered in the instructions.

Re: Update on intermittent wiper switches

Church-

Is the switch intermittent with any speed you want between low and high? I ask this because the wording in your link

"New switch has slow and high speeds like factory switch as well as push for washer fluid."

Just wanting to make sure.

thanks

Re: Update on intermittent wiper switches

Farm Boy,
The switch has the following settings:
1) Intermittant....delay can be adjusted from roughly 13 seconds to 2 seconds between wipes
2) Low speed continuous wipes
3) High speed continuous wipes
4) Push to wash. Will deliver 3 additional wipes once buttons is released.

Re: Update on intermittent wiper switches

Does anyone know how to make this work with a late model switch that is on the column with the blinker/cruise? I have a 2 speed self parking wiper motor (newport engineering) and would like to be able to use the switch that is on the column. The column came out of a 90's Astro Van. Any help would be appreciated. Order being placed for one of the intermittent switches for my 1969 Suburban.

Re: Update on intermittent wiper switches

Hmmmmm. Rob, I will have to look into that. I have a spare switch similar to what you have pictured there (only mine is out of an Olds). I will see what all the wires go to and see what I can come up with.

Re: Update on intermittent wiper switches

I'd like to chime in here and say that I just recieved one of these kits from Putter and it looks to be top notch stuff. I think these kits are a smokin' good deal.

The benefit of having a modern feature like this is worth a lot-with my old 64' C10 it seemed like I was holding onto the wiper switch all the time when the weather was wet. It was a PITA! I wish I had had one of these kits back then. Nice going dude! I think the kit is *****in'........

Re: Update on intermittent wiper switches

Thanks for the kind words.
Little does Guardrail know, that inside each switch is a microchip that is linked to a GPS navigational system. When he goes to sleep, his new wiper switch will connect to the ignition through the existing wiring harness, start the truck and drive itself to my house, where I will collect these trucks and force them to live with me and play COWBELL in my bovine choir....FOREVER!!!! Hahahahahahahaha (that was my evil laugh)

Re: Update on intermittent wiper switches

Odd question for ya, can I get a measurement from the base of the switch to the end of the shaft...I made my own dash, and even the stock switch is a little tight, wanna know if it will work!

Thanks!

Re: Update on intermittent wiper switches

To the end of the threaded portion is .48" (or just call it 1/2"), then another 1/2" of shaft that the knob attaches to.

The switch body is a 2.19" square (side to side & up/down)
And is 1.843" front to rear.

I'm interested in this for my '89 Blazer, too. Somebody has fiddled with the column and the intermittant doesn't work (if it was ever supposed to).
