Re: Pic Request Hugger Orange Trucks

I would really like to get a shot of it out in the light, the pics I have don't really do it justice.

Re: Pic Request Hugger Orange Trucks

The glovebox sticker calls it firebolt orange, but it sure looks like Hugger orange. I call it "Fast Orange"

Re: Pic Request Hugger Orange Trucks

ok i know this is a very old thread but it has good pictures for my question post 7. The truck on the left looks identical to mine, but my option sheet in the glove box says its medium red my grandmother says it was red when her and my grandfather owned it and says it still looks red when i buffed the paint even though it looks orange to me. Its been in the family sense new and has never been painted. The inside looks like medium red but the outside buffed to a nice shiney orange so could the sticker just be for the interior? i thought they were painted the same inside and out and theres spots where the paint doesnt match but its the inside paint that i can flake off to show orange. from what i can find it is firebolt orange when reading the brouchure and it doesnt even show medium red as an option so im wondering if anyone has any more info on the coloring and why mine is 2 different colors even though my family has never had a repaint on it every other one i have seen in person is the same inside and out?

Re: Pic Request Hugger Orange Trucks

Red, Light red, and medium red is all one color and is different from hugger/firebolt orange. If you truck is medium red and is original paint, there is no doubt that the exterior paint has lost some pigment after 40 years of sun. You are right that faded medium red looks a lot like hugger orange. Mine is the same way. The only part that looks red is the interior, especially around the headliner area.

When I drive my truck people are always talking about my orange truck.
