More trucks to add to collection

well, my dad found 2 71-72 part trucks chevys that he said i might want. I said sure, so he went and cut the deal. There isnt that much snow, so we attempted to go get them today. Plans didn't quite turn out like they were suppose to. These trucks have been sitting for 12+ years, so getting them onto the trailer proved to be more difficult then we thought. The one that I wanted was froze right to the ground and we couldnt get her to budge. We didnt try loading the other one, but instead came back and took the nice grill, a hood, and the box. The box I must say is really good, considering its from Canada. The truck was rearended so the tailgate is screwed and a small section of the floor got pushed in. But the sides are really straight and almost no rust.
And here are some pics, cause I know you guys like em.

GAH! another special order lime green truck! Awesome. How bad is it? How is floor of cab? That parts truck you looked at this summer (A) was also ordered the same color, as was my old one (B) that I sold years ago Not good pics, but you get the idea.

I didn't look at the floor, but I opened the door on it and saw the rocker panels have rust. I'll look at it later this week and let you know.

Re: More trucks to add to collection

Actually we have been getting some freaky warm weather, at least for Saskatchewan in January. It was nice today and tomorow's forecast calls for 27f (-2C). Not exactly balmy like you guys in Arizona, but considering where I live I'll take it.

I would be interested in buying that lime green glove box door. I have a collection of glove box doors and have never seen that color before.

Thanks, Joe

That lime greeen truck is really cool.
What was the Canadian Basic Equipment? Does that have any metric gauges?

Re: More trucks to add to collection

I am guessing Canadian basic equipment meant a block heater?
*Edit* Thanks 69-350 for pointing that block heater is already listed.lol

Re: More trucks to add to collection

I was wondering the same thing about the Canadian based equipment. Would it really mean the block heater though, since it's already listed? You'd think the block heater would be an entirely different option. Perhaps the Canadian based equipment option was something with emissions or the like? good question, I guess, but who has the answer?

I was wondering if it had anything to do with the heater / defroster ? Total guess .

I've tried to figure out what the difference is, and to tell you the truth, I haven't got the slightest clue.

Our heaters, and everything are identical. Unless its something to do with the labelling on the door jams / frames, then I haven't the foggiest

PS -- No snow at all here near Edmonton, Alberta...

Looks like a good score. For another $ (even canadian) they could have bought a green truck.

Re: More trucks to add to collection

I think the Canadian equipment thing is just stating it doesn`t necessarily meet US safety, emmissions, whatever requirements. Not that it doesn`t,just certified for Canada.Don`t forget, back then they were just starting getting away from making seperate Canadian vehicles.

yeah, I suppose it would probably be stuff like that, "we made it down here, just don't drive it down here." And I spose it would convert all the numbers and labels and stuff? (i.e. the speedo to KM/H and stuff)
