68 3/4 ton

hi guy's, I'm new to this board and have always been a chevy truck fan. I found a 68 3/4 ton for $800. it is a 2 owner truck and the second owner is the son of the first. it still has the protect-o-plate in the glove box along with the owners manual. it has a 327 with a 4 speed, no power brakes or power steering. It's the plane jane pickup. The body has some rust in the lower rear corners of the cab and that's about it for any real rust. the body is super straight with absolutely no dents. the tank needs to be flushed out because it has some rotten gas but started right up and idled fine. This truck was sold new in colorado and is in decent shape aside from the rust and a good tune up. Does it sound like a decent price? I haven't bought a truck in about 10 years so I don't know what the market is bringing.

Welcome to the board from mugg Ohio.
While it is pretty hard to apraise with just a description, I'll say it sounds like a winner.
IMO, anything that runs and is dependable...is worth 1K. Now, you just need to find out how dependable it is.
I paid about the same for 2 of the 3 trucks I have had, and they both required new transmissions before driving.

That's a pretty good deal. It looks like it has a Customor even a CST emblem well as a Custom Camper emblem. 327/4sp is a really good combo. (yes I'm biased) You could put power steering on it with out too much trouble.

Welcome... thats a decent truck, that 1968 327 alone is worth a fair amount of the trucks value.
