Question Strange Noise

The last 3 times my truck has been driven, if you turn the wheel all the way to the left (like when parking) it makes a noise from the left front that sounds like someone hitting the frame with a hammer or something like that. I know a description kind of doesn't help too much, but dose anyone have any idea of what I should look at? It has done it 5 or 6 times now, and it has gotten louder each time. Could it be something in the steering box? It is a 1970 2wd with power steering.

Jack the truck up and check all suspension and steering parts, I would suspect shot upper cross-shafts on your upper a-arm.

Hey, thanks, I will have to do that. I guess it looks like I will have to do the front suspension sooner than I planed. If that is the problem, is it safe to drive it like that for a while?

It's definitely a worn/loose suspension part. In my case, my 85 Z28 did that all the time, and it was the ball joints. Do what Sir Paul said, and check all the suspension parts.
