New from arizona
Hello my name is David I have a 79 2wd Brown and white Blazer 305/350/3.42 and it am the third owner and my grandpa was the second, he bought it when it was 2 years old and it has been under a carport/garage in dry arizona almost all its life. It has 130,000 miles on the original motor and trans. The motor is light blue, and was perfectly clean, But after 1.5 years I have had it it doesn't look so nice. Almost no rust, the black frame has white writing on it from when it was built. The outside original paint looks a little rainbowy, but I polished and waxed a front corner panel, and it looks like brand new paint. It has ac but I think the cluch was loose, and for some reason the compressor ceased up on the freeway, I pulled over and the ac clutch was on fire. I threw dirt on it to put it out and cut the belt. Its not that bad without ac.
I want to put headers and dual exhaust on it exiting under the rear bumper, each side 6 inches from the corner of the truck, and small rolled tips. I think that would look bad. It's my daily driver for now, but only until my other car gets running. I want to preserve it keep it like new. Might put lowering spindles on the front. I will have questions soon about the carb, suspension, wheels and tires of the blazer. Well, thanks for looking. David.

Re: New from arizona
I would think twice about the exhaust under the bumper, atleast if you are going to drive around with the window down in the back. Exhaust fumes will route back into the pass. compartment. My first vehicle was a 79 Blazer! Loved that beast

Re: New from arizona
Wow I didn't think of the exaust doing that, but now I can picture it can. I have seen how on dirt roads how the dirt just hangs behind boxy vevicles. Thats something I dont want to have to worry about.
Mine looks just like that picture only its brown instead of red, and has no sliding side glass, 2wd, and full size mirrors. I was thinking of getting a soft top, but I don't like how you have to dill holes into the tailgate. Was thinking I would getting a second tail gate, just so I wouldn't have to damage original.

Re: New from arizona
Thanks for the warm welcomes. Here it is, it's dirty right now. I have the original hub caps. It has 31x10.5 on it, they were $25 used with 60 to 40% tread on toyota rims which I can sell or trade.
