Mama's new ride

I picked this up Friday night. These new trucks are reeeeeeeeally nice. We had been kinda looking at them for a couple months, but GM decided to get a lot more aggressive with thte cash back because of the State Fair, so now we have one. Too bad I never will get to drive it, though.....

Jon- Let me know what you think when you get a few miles on it. We are looking to replace my wife 03 Denali. I am considering all of the fullsize SUV's. I would like to talk with someone that has had one for a while.

Re: Mama's new ride

My first impression is very good. I had driven a few here, just to get an idea. GM has significantly increased the rigidity of the vehicle, and they have used a lot of the "quiet steel" also. The truck is a lot quieter than my Lexus LS400 was. I would liken it to the difference in the '99 and 2000 Tahoe/burb. I bought an LTZ, and it has pretty much everything but Nav. and backup camera. The main difference in the LTZ and an LT3 (high level LT) is the rear air suspension. I really wanted the sunroof and factory 20's , so this fit my needs well. I found that what I wanted in an LT was more expensive than just buying the LTZ. You also get the heated, power fold rear bucket seats too. I would suggest taking one for a test drive, though. The difference (at least as far as I can tell) is amazing.

Re: Mama's new ride

Yeah I think the LTZ package is the reason I see 07 Tahoe/Burbs around here like 10-1 over Yukon/Yukon XLs. In the OBS it was the opposite. There were more Yukon/Yukon XL and Denali's than Tahoe/Burbs.

I looked at the LTZ package and it gives you "almost" everything that the Denali offers for less money. There is no doubt it is the best bang for the buck package.

Unfortunately she is strongly consider the Infinity QX 56 and the Lincoln Navigator. I'll try to get her to drive LTZ Burb before we make a purchase.

Re: Mama's new ride

I just can't handle the look of the front of the new Navigator. I really like the dash and interior, but the front is just too much for me, especially with the optional hood molding. I am not really sure about the Infiniti. We were strongly considering a Lexus RX350, but she (thankfully) liked the Tahoe better.

Re: Mama's new ride

No doubt that front end on the 07 Navigator is over done. The chrome hood protector make it totally gay. We looked at it in person and it's not as bad on the lighter colors. Then again, I don't really like the Infiniti front end either.

The Lexus RX350 is very nice. We have a friend that has one and she loves it. It's just to small for our needs. You can't load 10-12 volleyball players in one very well...
