So crazy that it just might work

At the end of the summer I purchased a blazer tub from Blazerb71, thanks for everything Bob, and couldn't figure out how to transport it. Well this is what I came up with and by golly it worked. I was a little off on one of the supports (1/2") but luckily I broought many shims. Everything made the 6 1/2 hour journey without moving a bit.
Thanks again Bob and it was nice to meet all of you.

As long as it got there in on piece it's a job well done. Not a bad looking tub for a project.

So, how did you take it off the rig when you got it home?

Re: So crazy that it just might work

Cherry picker and a lot of chains is what I used to take it off. I unscrewed the framework from the trailer and set it on the shop floor, which is where it still sits today. When the time comes I'm going to build a swingset (overhead beam), pick it straight up and roll the frame underneath it. Taking it off the trailer with the cherry picker was a PITA because the boom needed to be about 2 feet longer and I had to position the legs of it between the tires of the trailer, which of course didn't allow the boom to be in the right spot to lift...and so on.

Oh well it was fun and nobody got hurt.

Hopefully soon I will be cuttin and weldin.

Damn hell of a carpenter you are there. If you can cut and build wood then you can cut and bend metal.

What year corvette are you working on? I would put some wheels on that dolly and leave the Blazer on it if I were you.

It's a 1970 and runs great but needed a paint job when we bought it. So with the help of a local painter, we've became body men. Had the entire car media blasted and now we're filling and sanding the entire car. Oh what fun.

As for the Blazer, that sounds like a great idea!
